Fine, pay a fee commensurate with a player on those wages and we’ll do business. Still fancy we use him as bait to finally get Trafford.

Does Trafford play in midfield now?

Will have no respect for Tonali if he goes to Spurs - could understand the pull of City but Spurs after we stuck by him in his ban.  Shocking.

I'd sell him anywhere for £100m to be honest. if that is what we get, happy days.

Obviously but he has shown his true colours.  We're idiots as well if we sell before getting a replacement in.

You know the sport is healthy when a player leaves in his prime to go to another team with no European fixtures because that team has been grandfathered into being able to actually use resources.

Ffs, Thank you! I knew there was an exact term for it that I was missing.

Aye. Other clubs knowing we have £180m or thereabouts plus whatever the budget was before any outgoings doesn't put us in a great negotiating position. Whilst I'd happily snap off anyones hand for him if it contained £100m we'd need to have his replacement sorted beforehand.

We shouldn't even be wasting our breath talking to Spurs until we have got a replacement through the door

Under the current financial rules isn’t there a negative either way. If we spend on a replacement before we’ve sold him then that weakens our negotiating position because we’ll need the sale.

Surely we've some head room after selling Gordon and getting the likes of Tripps, Targett off the books.
