Just don’t engage with any rumours. Might see a youth teamer go out but it’s pretty obvious that the club is focusing on value now for the summer and potentially some firesale type transfer pre-June 30th if clubs need to do deals for PSR reasons. Given each position in the PL is worth about £3m, those finishing materially below where they expected could have some hefty hits - Man Utd, West Ham, Palace, even Wolves.

Given what went down in the summer ot seems if we'd have bought Guehi, we'd have had to sell. Either that or none of their targets are available at the moment and PSR is a useful excuse.

I wouldn't read to much into the "it was a deal we needed to do because of PSR". I don't think we'd be at risk of breaching it if we didn't sell, but rather we "needed" to in order to have some leeway and that we'd possibly miss out on getting a fee for him at a later stage if we waited any longer.

probabaly because the fee in the summer would have been a lot less if we sold him then.

Think this is very much the case. Think if we'd have signed Guehi, then not gotten CL we would've had to listen/accept offers for Isak, Bruno, Gordon etc before the end of June. 

 

Don't get me wrong, can still see offers coming in. But we should hopefully be in a much stronger position to knock back/say "sure, 150m and we can chat."

If they're daft enough to spend it on Felix I'm not too worried.

The Guehi thing just doesnt make sense to me, he isnt worth more than our best players so why risk having to sell one of them for him?
