NUFC Transfer Rumours

Could see Howe been interested in Cunha for his versatility and the tactical flexibility he'd offer. I'd love to see them signing a 10 to give the option of a Bruno/Tonali double pivot but doubt they'd invest to sign a specialist in that position unless they could also cover other positions and Cunha's probably the best example of someone who could do that. Could see them being interested if they thought they were getting value but would depend on what other clubs are in for him.

Really can't see us buying Cunha. Good player but I'm not sure where he'd fit and doesn't seem like a Howe player at all.

Sure I read something that he’s got the worst stats in the league for just walking about. Supremely talented mind.

Off to Man Utd. They might be shite but the pull is still there.

Any Cunha links just feels massive red herring, where we’ll probably leak it’s a target but actually spending time on someone different where it’ll come from nowhere.

Not read the article but my thoughts too. Why would we give Hope any idea of who we actually want this Summer, unless it's a red herring like you said

Do like the idea of a versatile forward mind

This would be the marquee signing I could get excited for.

Chelsea interested in signing Ipswich forward Liam Delap, and Benjamin Sesko, and Jonathan David, and Hugo Ekitike, and Victor Osimehn...

I wish Chelsea would just fuck right off. I really can't stand the cunts.

They have just sold their U21's to the hotel, following that the women's team bought them, but loaned them to the U18s, who were bought by the first team. So it's all good

Ah man, I'd forgotten about that. I feel like I've been a bit harsh on them now, obviously.

If it’s on a free it’s fine for me.

It's never free though. If it's true that he's on £100k at Everton, that'll be £5m+ plus whatever signing fee he gets. And at 28yo there's little chance we make much of that back if we sell him.

Compare that to someone like Delap, yeah he's going to cost £30m but that's only an extra £6m/year (compared to DCL) and plenty of opportunity to develop into a player worth twice what you've paid for him.

I really hope we go and get Liam Delap. Think he would be menacing to have come on for Isak and start from time to time to give Isak a break. He's very good, English and great age.

Seeing how Cole Palmer flourished when it seemed an over priced move to Chelsea at first, I'd hate to see him scoring a load somewhere else.

I have no idea whether it’s accurate or whether he would be any good under Howe but what seems clear is that there is a very shallow pool of players who (1) will be happy being second choice in all matches that really matter unless Isak is hurt and (2) who fit within the confines of PSR after we allocate funds to positions of greater priority.

Unless we plan to evolve to a regular 2-CF system, in which case I don’t seriously think we’d be looking at Calvert-Lewin as a starter.

Delap would be getting wages as well like…

Yeah sorry, I meant £6m/year more than DCL on a "free"

Obviously I'm just using Delap as an example to show that from a PSR perspective there isn't all that much difference between "free" and £20-30m as long as you target the right player.

I'd be pissed off if we signed DCL, he needs 10 chances to score 1

Bear with me on this, because it might be hard to believe, but I’m throwing this controversial opinion out there…..

it’s possible our expert scouting and transfer team might have done their extensive expert homework on any potential signings and poured over the stats to ensure the player is a worthwhile signing
