So now I have to search for both "Genk strikers to Premier League" and "Mary Elizabeth Winstead"

I don't know ball or totty 😢

I guessed it was Ramona Flowers from Scott Pilgrim. I was right and now I'm well chuffed with myself for the day :D

Arokodare at Genk linked. Top scorer in Belgium this season.

Bit of a late bloomer, emerging striker that made his international debut this season.

Different profile from Isak. Big physical presence at 6 foot 6, and has a huge leap so is really good in the air. Surprisingly mobile. Nice movement in the box.

Can be brought along and developed further still as is only just now starting to make some headway.

Probably one we are considering to replace Wilson.

Would love someone like him. Would probably cost similar to what Osula did and would be a real plan B option to throw in if we are desperate against a low block. Young and cheap enough that there's basically no risk involved too.

Yeah, I know quite a few people had said they'd prefer another striker that offered something a bit different as a plan B, but that also had room to grow too.

Rather than going down the route of getting another older premier league veteran like Calvert-Lewin.

Coming in from Belgium and not yet being fully established, a secondary role to Isak is also not likely to be an issue.

The article says Genk would be after around £15 million, so indeed similar to the Osula deal. Wages would be cheap too.

Another thing about this type of player is I think he'd be an easy sale to Saudi for at least double what is paid for him if things don't work out, just based on his season in Belgium alone.

I think Howe and the recruitment team would really have to believe in the player's ability and potential to opt for someone like him as the backup ahead of  a Calvert Lewin though.

The article says Howe in particular wants him and so we'll see how true that is.

Has football not moved on from "stick a big man up front" as a plan B?

Feels a bit PFM

Yeah but IMO it's still effective if the opposition is just sitting in a low block in their box. This kid based on that video is still good on the ground too. It's just not easy to win headers against someone who is two metres tall and better teams than us have stuck a big man up front recently in late stages of a match like Joselu at Real Madrid.

Appreciation of height and athleticism have seen a bit of a resurgence lately IMO after the era of short technical players keeping possession no matter what. Pep playing four CBs to help with set piece defending and buying Haaland, Arsenal's big focus on set pieces and how well we've done with Eddie who clearly loves a big and athletic team. Was reading Redcafe after Sunday and so many Man Utd fans were crying about how weak and unfit their team looked against us.

Deffo works well depending on the opposition

Man City with Haaland, Madrid have Bellingham, Arsenal with Havertz etc.

We use Joelinton as a target man sometimes

Hope it's bollocks. He'll be 29 come November and has a fucked Achilles that hasn't been resolved in ages.

It is bollocks don't worry. Doesn't fit either ours or Chelsea's profile.

I've noticed anytime we get linked with these older players with a bit of a high profile, it usually turns out that it's a Saudi club that's after them.

I don't know why, but because we're owned by PIF some kind of mix up happens there.

Would have been a great signing. Don’t love our chances since it appears all of PSG, City and Madrid want him.

But with all these teams where is his path to the first team. Real for example aren't playing Guler atm. PSG have players like Kang in who hardly get a sniff to.

Our appeal is potentially regular football at hopefully a champions league club

If PSG want him they can give us Kang -In Lee - they have Doue - Dembele - KK and Barcola, they need a 9 more than a creative player
