Hanshithispantz Posted Monday at 08:17 Share Posted Monday at 08:17 Delap wouldn't need breaking in like, he'd have a pre-season on the back of an impressive season starting in the Prem. Cup games and coming on for or alongside Isak after 60 minutes would be about the same as he'd get anywhere else.

r0cafella Posted Monday at 08:18 Share Posted Monday at 08:18 Taking a step back for a second, who we sign doesn't actually matter, I think Eddie has shown he's more about the system than the individual so achieving some tactical goals would be a better way to look at things. Here's 2 I'd like us to fix. 1, pace at the back: we need to be able to push our lines higher without being scared about people running in behind, we basically need someone who's rapid (think in the mould or Van Der ven, being good aerially would be a massive bonus) 2: we need to be able to extert more control over the game, basically someone who is calm and composed in midfield and who help settle some nerves. Basically an inverse Bruno, less mad passion more cold calculation. Obviously we have a lot of other areas to improve but if we can fix just these two things we get 10 more points next season imo. Willock, Wilson, Targett, throw a dart at the goalkeeping department, Longstaff (unlikely now with club-HG player rules?) to name but a few.

Someone like Eze for example would allow us to go with this against stronger teams where we need to win the midfield battle. Tonali Bruno Joelinton New RW Eze Isak Then against weaker opposition (or if we’re chasing a game and need to change it) we bring in Barnes for Joelinton and go. Tonali Bruno Eze New RW Barnes Isak Operating closer to a 4-2-3-1 with Eze playing more advanced than Big Joe does generally. Went with keeping Barnes because I think it’s easier to use him more rotationally, I don’t know if Gordon would accept it. I think with CL football there’ll be plenty of football for both of them but I don’t think it’s ideal that both of them seem only capable of playing (or willing to play?) in one position. There’s been little to suggest that the two of them can play together and be effective, which isn’t great. Eze is also just an example, I’m not sure he’d be the best player for the role but just the idea of someone who is first choice LW but also us the versatility to play inside and be more of an asset in breaking teams down. Great shout all that 👏

We can offer him lots yes but some on that list will offer him a starting place week in week out if that’s what drives him. There are no direct quotes! We’ll soon see. I’d love him here, but I’m sure we’ll grow and step up as a team with whoever we get in.

Izakaya Posted Monday at 08:38 Share Posted Monday at 08:38 We'll sign none of the Mbuemo, Delap, KWP, Guehi style names we've been linked with tbh. Reckon they'll all be mad out of the blue next-gen names from France, Spain, and South America. Based on nowt
CallumG6 Posted Monday at 08:42 Share Posted Monday at 08:42 Delap will go to that basket case club in Manchester and then wonder why he’s not developing or getting selected for the England squad.
