NUFC Transfer Rumours

Recommended Posts

Get our new DOF to spend the summer doing interviews with SSN, saying how he's a generational talent and we won't even think about sitting down with Palace for at least £70m, all whilst giving the wanker sign down the camera FAO Parish who will be sitting at home watching.

If this is whats happening, I can't understand why the club are dragging their feet to spend? I understand the last few windows being poor due to our previous over-spending.

I just can't understand why Eddie would have to play mind games in the press.

What makes you think the club are dragging their feet?

What makes you think Eddie is playing mind games?

There is no evidence to suggest anything other than the obvious; we had the capacity to sign Guehi, we didn’t; we have had significant income since then; we are working to sign what we need this summer. That amount will be considerably more than the £65m or so we would have spent on Guehi.

… it was in response to a theory that someone said on here…

Howe didn’t. Miley was 6th choice CM behind playing a back 5.  Miley needs to play regular competitive football.

Miley is clearly ahead of Longstaff, and I'd have him ahead of Willock given his performances this season.

The only reason I think he plays Willock ahead of him is because he's quick which isn't something our midfield is blessed with.

We'll have more games this season anyway so hopefully he'll get more minutes.

Brave to assume we’ll be getting a new DoF this summer.

Unpopular opinion, but Miley will never get enough game time here to warrant him staying here.

I think we need to take note of how Howe treats his youngins, Hall didn't play much at all at first

Tbf, I don't think it's a question of our development process, moreso that the standard of player we have in his positions is far too high for him to break into on any consistent basis.

With the extra games this season he should get more pitch time, I know a lot of it was down to injury but he broke into the squad in our last CL campaign and if he isn't guaranteed any additional game time next season then yes maybe he does need to move on but only on a loan for me, he's too talented at 19 to just discard.

Often the problem with top teams and developing talent! I hope he gets plenty of opportunities next year because I think he's a really good young player.

I'm not as concerned with not having things done immediately, more that Bournemouth and Forest both signed center backs better than Guehi for fractions of what we were willing to bid. In the PSR age the only way we get to the top tier and stay there is consistently finding value, saving big money for transformational signings like Isak, Tonali etc. I really hope Howe sees we need the option of a quick technician in midfield, it absolutely killed us in a few matches. Was delighted when Mitchell came til he opened his fat mouth. A compromise between sure thing big money and youth is what we need, and Mitchell had a good record for consistently finding value

Lots of games we needed someone more technical in the final third than Joelinton, Miley hasn't shown he's the man to do it, he needs to if he's to stay. Otherwise I'd rather we loaned him, let him have a season at a smaller club to get in the team and be the focal point of their midfield. If he can get that confidence he clearly has some very useful qualities.

Will he though? Seems Willock is first change and if he's sold we're likely to go for a player who will be an improvement on him, so not only do I not see significant upturn in game time, but I don't see a moment in time where he'd get enough playing experience to reach his full potential.

We have 2 of the very best CMs in the world and Joelinton isn't far behind, thats not a easy line up to break into.

He's similar to Anderson for me, he wont develop here as we cant afford to loan him out because of time pressures and because of the PSR premium of selling academy products.

Will he become a good player in his career? I dont know (I didnt think Anderson would become what he has) but due to the restraints we find ourselves in we'll probably never find out whilst hes our player.
