Played pretty much the entire season bar last 2 games where the coach may have just tried a player here and there considering they were guaranteed 3rd

 

He’s a fantastic midfielder who can cover our 3 in midfield - without doubt my first choice CM purchase

Yep! Would give us a ton of depth and options regarding setup as well as the possibility to rotate heavily. All of Ederson, Tonali and Bruno can play both DM and box to box. Joelinton can do various roles as well. We could with a double pivot or a 3. Both JP and Akliouche can play as a more advanced player if we don’t play with three. Then there’s also Miley and Hall in worst case scenario.

How can you say this? You think it’s impossible that we sell both Willock and Longstaff? 
 

IF we don’t get another CM it’s gonna be a tough season, a very long and tough one…

Woukd be naive not doing it.

 

Id be ok with a slightly cheaper one too like Fernandes from Southampton. Either way it’s a MUST imo. 
 

We will struggle with 3 + Miley. Longstaff and Willock is pointless to even think about imo. Can see Joelinton struggling with fitness too. 
 

Imo there’s a reason Howe changed formation. Not only because of the teams we played.

Eventually you need the 4th option that’s on par with the 3 we have - Longstaff and Willock offer us nothing and hopefully are sold to allow such purchases

I agree that we need another cm, I just don’t think we’ll spend a giant chunk of our budget on a blue-chip one.

CM is getting more and more important for me. If Pedro joins we can sometimes change things up, but playing CL and PL with our key trio weekly is not sustainable. With Longstaff looking like leaving we need one anyway.

Aye you might be right tbh. I think we will IF we can get rid of Longstaff and Willock. But yeah, obviously not quite straightforward. Also wondering about potential Palace interest in Miley. I hope we don’t sell him though.

We definitely need a new CM to replace Willock and Longstaff, but yeah it won't be this summer. Might get a youngster if our funds stretch that far, otherwise it'll probably be January.

Grealish on loan? I think he could revive his form-career under Howe, and we could do something like half of his salary + 6-8m loan fee which covers his another half of salary for City. that way it doest blow our salaries within other players.

 

wouldnt do a permanent deal as not sure how ambitious he is long term. feels a bit like he gave up after their treble win, like won it all, what else there is to fight for...

but short term, in a WC year he might give his all...

Dont think it matters much in regards to PSR if we buy now (after july) or in January.

Where would he fit in a Howe formation? He's got plenty of quality, but lacks in so many other metrics. As a #10 is the only position I could see him working.

Have we shown any real interest in Madueke? Left footed right winger who can also play on the left where Chelsea have shoved him with Neto on the right. If Gittens comes in he'll probably get less game time. Rather Madueke than Elanga, he's probably cheaper as well.
