NUFC Transfer Rumours

Recommended Posts

Nothing is going to happen on the transfer front until after the PSR deadline on 30th June then watch the incoming big money transfers.  Waiting until after 30th June gives us an extra year to comply with PSR on the 3 year rolling basis.

There maybe a bit wiggle room before then, as Howe mentioned that we maybe in a position to take advantage of clubs looking to sell. Just have to wait to see. I'm quite happy to see what happens, unlike 70% of our fanbase.

Isn't it pro rated? So if we bought someone on June 28th, only a very small fraction of the outgoing spend would count for this year? But works the other way for sales (ie; you bank everything in that year you make the sale).

Yep. It’s the selling club that wins in June accounting wise. Makes little difference to the buying club in June or July.

That's only if the selling club needs the money for PSR this financial year, otherwise they're always going to be better off with the sale going through in the next financial year so the profit counts towards PSR for three years rather than two.

Been saying this for weeks now. I expect an incoming transfer in the first few days of July.

We really don’t need Jacob Ramsey. It feels like a signing for signings sake unless we are selling Willock. We need a right winger, striker and a centre back

We need depth too. Our bench is often poor compared to our opposition. Ideally Willock would be sold with Ramsey coming in.

If we do it'll be some PSR signing - sick of PSR - it is just disgusting to see the cartel able to spend what they want whilst the rest of the league try to constantly balance the books.  I stand by 'how can this be legal?' - football is a business like any other.  Surely it breaks some competition law bringing in rules which prevents other 'businesses - as clubs are a business' - from spending.  I do not understand how this has not been challenged in court.

What's happened with the APT rules as well? Last I remember they were illegal - so why aren't the club making hay now?  Just get some ridiculous training ground sponsor.

Howe has talked about wanting to take a different approach in some games, so we will need someone like Ramsey to give us something different

We need more than that if we want a squad to compete in the league, Europe and for domestic cups.

We need depth, especially if Longstaff goes (which it looks like he will). I do agree he seems to be very Willock-esque though, so it'll be interesting to see hat we do there if he comes in.

I am not going to lie I thought we'd be out the traps straight away this Summer - we have seen how quickly the likes of Liverpool have attacked the market and I was expecting that.  I have a horrible feeling it's PSR related and that we can't spend until 1st July when one of the years falls off the books.  Another win for the cartel.

I think we'll manage another 8 days or so, to be fair.

I really don’t know if Eddie meant we need to move quick as soon as the window opens or we need to be ready to go when the opportunity presents itself and clubs/players are ready to do business with us.

I think you under estimate how competitive the market is and what advantage that gives to the cartel clubs.

He’s decent but Villa fans question if he can hit the heights again after some bad injuries. And he’s another one who plays off the left.   In any other period I’d be for it but we’re going to have to use our budget smartly and there are too many areas more of a priority
