NUFC Transfer Rumours

Waugh did mention it appears to be one In one out this summer, I think that's something @TheBrownBottle has been saying for a few weeks too.

Wouldn't be suprised if it's the cases given we were calculated to be around 68% in SCR terms.

Still, a good start with Ramsdale, Krafth, Trippier, Targett and Gordon on their way. Would be amazed if Willock is here come September too.

Yeah, absolutely I mean our allowance is 85% this year as no European football but obviously our revenue will take a hit.

I'm really interested to see how we Approach this summer.

It’s generally the handshake clubs do with UEFA to get heavily reduced fines. In a non-European year it makes complete sense to balance player trading.

Also by 27/28 I’d be hopeful of seeing one or two of these much vaunted youngsters starting to knock on the first team door too, so hopefully less investment needed if we do have to bulk squad places out for European football.

I'd imagine the club will stick to the 70% threshold if it intends to regularly qualify for Europe.

Agreed though, not really sure what to expect.

Think you aren’t understanding the concept of what he writing TBH.

What are you expecting exactly?

Our team of dedicated writers, including David Ornstein, will take you inside the market to explain the deals being worked on in what promises to be an extremely busy transfer window. This includes the players who could arrive and the ones on their way out, across the Premier League and beyond in a World Cup summer.

Waugh’s article fits the brief but is about as dynamic as my ACL’d knee.

So basically they are promising a list of players we are looking to buy and sell.

Not sure how you can make a list that dynamic or the importance of it being so [emoji38]

I predict a frustrating few months ahead for you.

Not really. I tend to give Douglas and Waugh a swerve on anything transfer related. Waugh’s general NUFC articles are often a good read.

Downie and Luke get the occasional one right, as you know, but unfortunately the Prophet of Doom, No Hope, appears the person with the best contact into the club.

All these links highlight how there are no real secrets in football regarding young players anymore. We definitely seem to have shifted policy, but still battling with the so called elite to sign them.

I'm starting to think none of the players mentioned so far will be genuine targets. Since we first heard these names, now they are being linked with Man U, Spurs, Real Madrid etc. I would imagine the real targets will be under wraps until the deal is done if Wilson has any hope of faring better than Howe Jr. et al last summer.

Shame because I was really hoping the Abde Eze link was genuine.

Will be a mistake not to go for Hackney imo. Certainly for the prices mentioned.

He lives in Redcar and apparently keen to remain living on Teesside so we would surely be attractive to him.

Selling Hall would be a nightmare scenario. I feel like there's so much work to do on the squad already, never mind losing one of our most talented players. Circa £50m would be an absolutely awful deal as well, would have to be closer to £70m at a minimum.

Yeah, absolutely can’t happen. Hall and Bruno must be retained at all costs.

I think we would be keen but we have a lot of midfielders and it seems like shifting Willock isn't easy.

Tbh if in the end Willock can’t be sold then we should loan him out for a few quid. I really want to see us getting certain players out of the first team squad.

We are in a tricky position with him honestly. It's appears to be trending towards another player being allowed to leave for nothing.

Understandable if they've seen him try to play football. It's early and we're probably trying to get top dollar - feels like a later window sale.

The Man Utd correspondent in the athletic says they want Lewis Hall

That probably says quite a lot about the direction of the two clubs over the last 12 months.

One club looks at Lewis Hall and sees a player worth building around for the next decade.

The other is debating whether Dan Burn should still be starting at left back.

Interesting bit here.

Are there any specific players they are targeting?

Newcastle’s long-term admiration of James Trafford is well documented, and their interest remains, though extracting the England international goalkeeper from Manchester City will prove expensive — plus they face stiff competition. Brighton’s Bart Verbruggen and Lens’ Robin Risser have also been tracked, but Borussia Dortmund’s Gregor Kobel is likely beyond their financial means. Reims’ Ewen Jaouen is liked, but if Newcastle sign the 20-year-old, it will likely be alongside the acquisition of a more senior shot-stopper.

At centre-half, Atalanta’s Giorgio Scalvini has long been followed, and Como’s Jacobo Ramon is liked, while at full-back, Club Brugge’s Joaquin Seys and Toulouse’s Dayann Methalie were discussed in January.

In midfield, Porto’s Victor Froholdt has been watched, while Monaco’s Lamine Camara and Auxerre’s Kevin Danois have previously featured during internal discussions. Newcastle anticipate AZ’s highly-rated Kees Smit, who they enquired about last summer, will join a bigger European club.

Howe is an admirer of West Ham forward Jarrod Bowen, though a transfer seems unlikely at this stage, with a host of wingers on the continent watched, including Hoffenheim’s Bazoumana Toure and Koln’s Said El Mala. Real Betis’ Abde Ezzalzouli is also on their radar, but no approach has bee

n made.

The guy is just listing names that have been doing the rounds here and there. Terrible article of ifs, buts and maybes [emoji38]

To be fair, I do believe Waugh will have sourced these names.

It reads so poorly. Just a scatter brained listing of some names that have been doing the rounds, and what the club may do, if this or that happens, but may not do, if that or the other happens instead. Covering all bases.

If the planning of the recruitment team is that haphazard and uncertain then we are cooked.

At Lille, after a slow first season, David become a 25-goal striker. For all these reasons, Juventus is looking elsewhere, but with much less anxiety than with the Openda case, and some in Europe are tempted by the idea of relaunching the Canadian. The stumbling block is his €6 million salary. Few can afford it. PSG, led by his discoverer Luis Campos, is considering a swap deal with Kolo Muani, while Newcastle and Crystal Palace are also in the running. Spalletti would prefer a more robust nine than Jonathan, and an offer around €25 million would guarantee a nice capital gain for the Old Lady.
