The more I think about it, the more Liam Delap for £30m is such a smart decision and I’m pretty sure we will try to get it done. We’re going to have at least 46-48 games next season and we need a striker that can carry the load. We won’t do better than him at his age and with PL experience already and there’s sell on value too

Him and [emoji38] or Mbeumo please.

Not to be clogging up the rumour thread with conjecture but I wonder if Barnes retains his place for the rest of the season and somebody comes in with a big bid for Gordon in the summer would they be tempted. Chelsea is the only side I could see that might throw a bid in just because they're Chelsea and not out of any great need. Perhaps Liverpool if Diaz who's always linked away moved.

It's a fairly well stocked area of the team with a lot of players who could do a job there, maybe even Sanusi could emerge as an emergency option next season. Feels like having 2 top class players competing for one position is a luxury they're a few years away from being able to afford given the deficiencies elsewhere in the side.

We’re trying to build depth, not deplete it. I don’t see Gordon or Barnes going anywhere.

If Barnes had been sold when Gordon was doing well (as many had called for) probably wouldn’t have won a trophy and be in with such a good chance of CL.

LW isn’t even fairly well stocked. Willock isn’t really a genuine option and Joelinton can’t be moved without weakening the midfield

At 30-40mil. Id say that's a great signing. We need to raise that ceiling at CB, and we need pace. As much as his long range passing is not even close to Schars, he breaks the lines better with short passing, and his balls into the box for mid range crossing areas are better.
