NUFC Transfer Rumours

Recommended Posts

"For example, I’m told that a goalkeeper and right-sided centre back will be priority targets no matter what. James Trafford and Guehi are two names I would watch very closely. After that, the right winger could become a question of budget, depending on which European competition the club are playing in."

I can only imagine the reaction to no right winger

It does, but Brentford have another one-year option, so it’s effectively two years.

Thanks for clarifying.

I still think £60m is great value for him. The question is whats our total budget.

Could we bring in money selling Longstaff, Kelly and Willock that allows us to stretch to Mbuemo and Guehi in the same window...

Sounds like the money will mostly be spent on GK and CB, and then less on the right wing, with the budget there affected then by which Euro competition we're in.

So not likely to be a major signing for that RW position from the sounds of that.

Looks like Murphy's performances this season have made them feel the other positions are in greater need of upgrading this summer, and are first priorities.

we need a striker before anything else.

we can be competitive in every other position if the first choice player is injured.

whereas an Isak injury is a cliff edge

Seems we're quite content for the Huijsen, Guehi, Mbuemo and Cunha to be public knowledge.

Give they'll all be subject to high prices and significant competition, I'm not convinced.

Clubs to spend their time negotiating for those players, whilst we’re not and targeting other players to steal a March.

When we’re linked that much in press with a player, I don’t see the move happening.

"Keen to avoid sagas"

I think we all are after last summer. Stick a grey wig on Marc Guehi and it was basically a saga holiday.

Guehi, Mbeumo and Trafford would be an immense summer imo. Not the most imaginative, sure, but I’m a massive advocate of proven quality. That’s the kind of business that teams who win titles deal in.

Could you imagine us having to put up with all those Murphy assists next year?

We have 1 good and 1 solid gk. Both are above 32 years old, so on paper, it makes sense.

And only 1 good RW, who imo is playing at his ceiling at the moment and will begin to drop off.

FFP wise some of these are just too much money. Our main problem is depth which is hard to do for a developing team especially when you are buying 40m+ players. I hope we can find some hidden gems.

Hope contradicts himself weekly btw, last week he said Cunha is number one target and now he’s saying GK and CB are [emoji38]

He still mentioned Cunha, and the fact they wouldn't mind the fee due to his versatility.

However, as things stand Man United have thrown big money at him apparently.

And so depending on what happens with Champions League qualification at both clubs not as likely.

RCB for me marra. Granted there's next to nothing in it, we need both.

Sounds like the right winger will be one that can also play upfront.

Need a Chris Waugh DCL/Elanga article now to really kick the summer off.

Wonder if we have considered shipping Willock off to Saudi. Can probably sell him for a decent fee without anyone reacting.

Does Willock not get a say in this deal?
