NUFC Transfer Rumours

If we get that level of player, would be ok with Wilson signing an extension as backup assuming Osula would be number 2 and Wilson no. 3

Pedro can play up front but not sure Simons can

My main concern this summer is the fact other clubs know we've got cash to spend. As soon as we make any kind of bid then then the price goes up immediately. This happens anyway but I think it's even more pronounced as they know they can hike the price up and up and up and we're either forced to pay it or move on to the next in the list. Getting deals done at reasonable price is virtually impossible when they know NUFC is the buying club. I don't blame them but it's definitely an issue we need to contend with

Nothing new from Hardy. First bids never get accepted anyway. We always knew the Pedro fee would be high, its a fair start. If we are really interested we will come with a second.

Brighton will sell Pedro at that price if no one else matches it. They’re desperate to get rid. We shouldn’t be pushing the bid too high. If those disgusting vermin at Chelsea want to bid stupid money for him then so be it. Vile rodents

Reijndeers under fifty million

Cherki under fifty million

Frimpong under fifty million

This is a ridiculous post.

It's a fairly common concept that the bigger fish will get the better deals because the clubs who are selling have very little in the way of resistance.

How on earth were Newcastle supposed to get ahead of City or Liverpool for those deals? We cant even get ahead of Man United and their dog shite. In fact, how do you know that they weren't targets in the first place. It's been widely reported that we were in for Delap, but Chelsea would offer him a bigger wage than us and possibly a guaranteed spot in their side.

The reality is that "bargains" are very hard to come by, because guess what? Everyone else is looking at those players too.

Nearly all our targets seem to have sell on clauses which hikes the price up.

Poor scouting by us.

Howay man, take a breather and log off until September

Wonder who our alternatives to Pedro would be. Haven't seen any other names linked for the positions he covers

Joel Piroe has good stats

Much harder to find these bargains when you're 5th looking to break the top 3 or 4, than if you're bottom-half trying to reach the top 8.

What big club doesn't have this problem? Liverpool have paid what id consider a premium for each of their signings. Leverkusen rightly took them to the cleaners.

The actually issue is that while certain clubs can pay that premium, we've got the threat of PSR looming over us.

2 years ago, under Staveley, we'd have likely already paid what these clubs are asking. Understandably we are being more thoughtful now.

It trickles down too. Don't think Howe will let Willock or Longstaff go without feeling like hes really got the most back on them. Be thankful that we are being over quoted on good players.
