Holloway Posted Saturday at 21:49 Share Posted Saturday at 21:49 I'd encourage Tino to develop his marauding attributes, he is a havoc causer. His recovery pace goes a long way to fulfilling his defensive responsibilities imo

He looked to me to get winded or what I thought was a broken rib based on the impact and his rolling around. Seemed a tad melodramatic when he came back on and nowt was a matter. I just think that's a downside of the modern game tbh. Then when folk are actually hurt folk think they're just looking for decisions.

alexf Posted Saturday at 22:08 Share Posted Saturday at 22:08 Fair. Just in this case, I thought it looked a painful one on the replay. Regardless, he had Werner in his pocket today.

Didn’t see any play acting at all, he got on with it when he finally got his breath back. p.s my MOTM today. Thought it was possibly his best game for us. I just don't normally see folk roll around relentlessly when winded tbh, normally they're doubled owa trying to catch their breath perhaps I am being harsh. It did look like he was visibly struggling for a little bit after the challenge in the first minute mind. Noticed a few uncharacteristic mistakes and him looking rough. Once the air comes back, you feel fine. I only had it happen once and that was enough for a lifetime.

As for Tino, not sure what happened to the lad but glad he was ok. One thing I do like about him is turning up the field and carrying it out from our end to midfield. It would be better if he could pick out a quicker pass once he gets there.

Andy
I still think there's some flaws to be ironed out when he's on the ball, but purely as a defender, he's got to be one of the best fullbacks around at the moment? He never looks like he's going to get beaten in a one on one, it's a suprise when he does.

Solid in the air, doesn't mind showing the winger the line as he has a great turn of pace, full of running all game. Most impressive for me is how he tracks the ball and rarely seems to get stuck under it or let his man run off him. He'd make a great cornerback There were some times earlier in the season I thought he seemed to lose concentration a few times and he did look a bit flustered under pressure on the ball the last two games. But the back 4 is quite well balanced now, with having Hall the other side as the ball player and Tino as the runner.
Elliottman
I think we've been so spoilt by Trippier that when I watch Tino in the final 3rd it appears as though he sometimes struggles to make a decision and just ends up slowing things down a touch. Not a criticism by any means, as I say, we've been watching Trippier for a couple of years who's decision making in the final 3rd was sensational. I'm sure it will be something they're working on with him though. Defensively he's a rock, so good watching wingers try and get past him
Ronson333
What he lacks going forward he makes up defensively, his pace at the back is massive for us as shown in the spurs game & he’s an outstanding one-on-one defender. Attacking wise he still has some way to go, but he’s a good carrier of the ball and would probably benefit from an inverted winger. Dan Gleebals
Plenty of head roon with Tino, and Howe will get him there. Defensively he is right up there, work on the final 3rd and him and Hall are going to be unreal.
mattypnufc
Can do his primary job very well. Martinelli got past him once all night. The forward runs he does are great. Not helped by having limited options on the RW in front of him mind.
Holloway
I like that the 2 young fullbacks have different attributes and strengths, Hall is ahead in overall improvement and Tino has a little more refinement on his game to look at but he'll get there, undoubtedly
