£20M for him.

They paid £35m for Anderson

So essentially sold a cracking prospect that could've been Joelintons replacement for £15M and a ropey keeper.

Ah well.

Sheesh.

Didn't realise the £20 million had been confirmed. Oh well.

Would have easily got that back from Saudi too. How annoying.

I don't think we can legally send someone as pasty as Ruddy to Saudi Arabia

It's a bit simplistic to view it as a swap deal when we got £35 million in the coffers for Anderson.

Needs to be careful.

Spends too long at the club and he might find himself being released.

Ending up on the dole relying on his gyro

And we paid £20m for Vlad. Combining the deals makes sense. £35m for Anderson sounds impressive. £15m for Anderson + Vlad was a subpar deal then and even worse deal now.

It got us over the June 2024 hump. Beleive he's on a 5-year deal. He's costing us in the region of £4-£7m per year. That's a lot for someone that never ever plays.

I'm hoping he can turn his career around like Sels.

Don't think that's going to happen, Eddie was furious at losing Anderson for this guy, and he's barely got a look in since. I think Howe wants him out of the club asap.

That's exactly why I'd say it's a bit simplistic to put it in those terms. Just my view though.

We must have someone high up leaking all these contract details to the forum...

But all I would add is if the deal stopped both clubs being fined or docked points then the true worth to both clubs is more than what the actual transfer shows on the balance sheet.

Sad but even if it's positive by one penny the lad had to be sacrificed for the good of the club.

Why not just go to Saudi on a 3 year contract and come back to Europe in 6 months like every other player

Don't get all your money apparently.

Confirmed by whom? I doubt we spent that on a 30 year old.  There has to be more to it.

Not confirmed. But it is clsoe to the figure reported by The Athletic and Transfermarkt.

The "more to it" is it's a FFP workaround for both clubs. Most of us thought the Anderson £35m was too high and it was. We also overpaid for this lad. Where we missed the trick, everyone else signed youngsters with potential to hold or increase value.  Forest played a blinder, they signed a first-team player. Villa did a good swap deal with Chelsea too for the Dortmund fullback.

Probably because he has a young family and is settled? As much as Saudi is mega bucks he may just want to play at a decent standard.

Fair do's but he's 3rd choice keeper at Newcastle, no chance he gets a run in the team as the club are actively looking for a first team keeper.

Yeh, absolutely! Although he’s probably of the mindset he could still get a decent move in a European league.

Gotta love this PSR world where shite 3rd/4th choice goalkeepers are getting moved around from club to club for huge sums of money, whilst earning decent coin themselves despite never making appearances.

That's the football I fell in love with as a kid.
