Elanga has a higher ceiling.

Aye probably , but he won’t be a transformational signing for us. That and that he lacks some important attributes that a proper footballer needs. He isn’t going to the top or even near.

A 50-60m player should be transformative for us. There’s not much between Elanga and Murphy.

I disagree, but I think the only reason you can even say that and it not sound totally ridiculous is because of what Howe and the coaching staff have got out of Murphy, something Elanga doesn't have.

Before Howe Murphy looked every bit a standard Championship player. Elanga is now already a player that's hit almost a goal or assist every other game in the Premier League, without Howe's coaching and 7 years younger.

There's no reason he can't be transformative if you trust Howe's ability to massively improve players consistently.

Quite surprised by the level of angst, like.

I think those who think it's 'boring' forget that - due to how the Premier League has gone way beyond any other league out there - most of the best players are already here. Certainly the best attacking players.

PSR limits us to being risk averse, therefore it's sensible for us to use the domestic market, despite its inflated fees. We don't have the flexibility afforded to say Chelsea and Man Utd on account of their financial capacity, or say Brighton and Brentford on account of their modest aims. If we're going to keep swinging at the CL places and possibly the title, we need as close to a guarantee as possible. You're only going to get that if they've already demonstrated their capability here.

No beef at all if he's our top target. The boss has demonstrated continuously that he knows what he's doing in the transfer market.

Okay, let's wait and see when that £60 million bid comes in for him.

I'd personally take £50m at this point to be honest.

But aye let's see. Fingers crossed.

Kvaratskhelia was 67 mill pounds and earns 250,000 pounds per week. Thats a transformative signing.

We can't afford to pay players that much p/w

Risk averse, despite our best signings being from the foreign markets?

I’ve been reading Forest Forums and they would be gutted to loose him. They reckon him and MGW are their most important players and they reckon Elanga will be worth much more than £50 million in a few years

Shame we can’t get MGW.

You make it it sound like Nuno is Bruce or similar. Like Nuno hasn’t got the best out of him. A manager that is bloody perfect in his style and setup for a player like Elanga.

If we are being unbiased here then I’d say what Nuno has done in the league this season overall exceeds what Howe has done.

I can see how he can be an asset but so underwhelming.. I've been hoping for years for some genuine football quality from that position - touch, vision, free kick ability, curled left footed shots..

where's our scouting really? fucking Chelsea have like 3 brazilians that match the description and probably won't ever play for them, yet would be first choice for us after a season with Eddie.

Yep, the only left footed players Eddie has bought are Targett and Botman. Not good enough :pilko:

Absolutely nothing to do with his nationality. I was happy with Gordon, elated with Barnes. Elanga would be good for us, but I want so,done to be great for us, like Bruno, Tonali, Isak.

I definitely wouldn't say that, no. I've been saying all season that Forest aren't actually very good, that how they play isn't sustainable, and their league position was a lie. That being said, they've still got good players and Elanga is one of them imo.

Forest aren't anywhere near as good as us.
