But you’re saying Elanga is worse than Des Hamilton doesn’t deserve a squad number and you’re telling me to log off.

He’s not played well for us so far - yes

 

He’s worse than Des Hamilton - no

 

He’s proven he has what is takes to be good in PL - yes

He had one or two bright moments early on. There was one instance when he drove inside and found Woltemade with a crisp pass towards their box. After that he was awful. His control is so poor that I think if he was a youth player coming into the side, the consensus would be that he's going to struggle to make it as a professional.

 

He also doesn't seem like a strong character, another area where our once touted transfer process doesn't really seem to work. The likes of Des Hamilton, Nikos Papavasiliou, Mike Hooper, even Warren Barton and Gary Speed show that fans have always got on the back of new signings who fail to produce, and we are now in an era when the transfer fees and salaries are exorbitant while the players are less relatable and seemingly no more skilled.

 

It's up to him to sort it out. With his speed and the way we're set up, with a modicum of composure it won't be that difficult for him to contribute as a squad member. It is difficult though to see him being any sort of long-term answer down our right side. The temptation would be to cut our losses on both him and Ramsey, but I don't know if that's tenable any more under today's financial rules.

It’s all relative - the world record fee stands at over £200m, and the British record is £125m (or £130m).

 

When Beasant was signed the British record was £2m.  When Marcelino signed for just under £6m it was £15m.

This isn’t remotely sophisticated modeling but this is nuts for 60mm

He had 1 x good and 1 x great season at Forest. 

 

He’s been poor here but that doesn’t mean he’s a poor player. 

 

Why not go back and see how his xG was when he was in his mams womb ?

A bit like Wolt, I don’t think we've figured out how to get the best from him.

This. He sometimes gets hammered in games when in truth he wasn't that bad, but he was poor today.  However, with the exception of a couple of players, most were bloody awful today.
