I haven't even watched the highlights, just read the comments, and it's all the same from previous games - he can't control the ball, can't make a simple pass, can't get on the dribble to use his pace, doesn't work hard off the ball, etc. I can see the performance.

He likes to knock the ball past his man straight out of play. He hasn't started well, we all know that, but I'll still back the useless cunt.

He's getting all the criticism because he was shite and his form over the season has been worse, but in the game itself Gordon was far worse like. At least with Elanga he had a few moments of passing to one of our players or winning a corner, Gordon’s performance had no redeeming features at all.

The two of them need fucked into the nearest pit tbh.

He won a free kick before he got subbed, man

We wanted this guy to play with Isak and it's blown up in our face. The turgid, set piece heavy, compressed football in middle areas of the pitch trend this season hasn't helped him and his technical weaknesses are being thoroughly exposed, and it's the same as Gordon really. Unless they manage to break away from their full back at speed they're both functionally useless and even then due to confidence and general shiteness outside those breaks, when they do get into decent areas the end product is often garbanzo.

I don't understand why you'd sign a player that has had success elsewhere, and not put them in positions that at least somewhat mimic what allowed them to succeed previously.

Elanga is not a technical player to be interchanging passes with. He's an outlet winger you want to get in behind, or 1 in 1 in transition with lots of space, like we did against Barca and Union SG. Aside from those games, we hardly ever even manage to play him in behind successfully.

We're seeing the same thing with Isak at Liverpool. They play slow football that never gets the ball forward quickly to him in space and he looks unbelievably bad. You'd never believe it was the same player we had.

I doubt things would’ve gone any better if we still had Isak tbh, he’s just not a good footballer. After spending around £150m on wingers I think we need two starting wingers in the next two windows. That also means two leaving, which would be Elanga and Gordon for me currently. And the focus needs to be on technical ability and decision making, not their 100m time.

Absolutely this, there isn’t exactly a shortage of technical wingers out there that can carry the ball, dribble, beat a man and link play. Somehow we’ve ended up with a set of wingers that struggle with most of these traits. It’s fucking mad

What's even more ridiculous is targeting these kinds of wingers specifically, and then not purposefully playing in a way that emphasizes what makes them dangerous, and limits their flaws!

Over the last few years, I’ve tried really hard not to steam into individuals in the way I would have before.

Been so much more patient. Tried my best not to ‘call out’ poor performers and preached patience to other fans as best I can but honestly this cunt can fuck right off.

He’s a fucking waste of space.

I’d drive him back to Nottingham today for whatever they’d give us. He’s an utter liability.

He's a sprinter, not a footballer and he’ll never be one as long as I’ve got a hole in my arse.

Their needs to be some serious post mortem done into this purchase because this cunt is Howe’s Jordan Ibe moment reincarnated.

I agree 100%.

It's a system issue and everyone is suffering.

Feels like we are not playing to anyone's strengths at the minute.

It's awful.

Regardless of who our 2 wide men are - you put them up the field by 15-20 yards and you see a totally different NUFC team - it’s so bleeding obvious that I am astonished Howe isn’t able to see it - it’s risk and reward and at the moment Howe is pure risk averse which happens when results go against you

We are in a position now whereby we literally have nothing to lose - play the same way and the season fizzles out and what have you gained? Nothing - go old school Howe and I guarantee we improve - do what you are good at and what you have recruited to do

I actually thought he exchanged passes quite well at times in the first half.

Yes he gave the ball away, but so did everyone else. He's not what we needed but that's on Howe for me.

I think the nail has been hit on the head tbh, we don't have wingers for the slow build up play we seem to have inexplicably adopted, we have fast, transitional wingers who look to get us up the pitch at pace, it could be down to conserving energy for 3 games a week or wanting to get big Walt involved in our attacks, whatever it is, it isn't working.

Didn't watch yesterday's game but this lad is not a good footballer and it's always going to be a problem. His lack of footballing ability isn't a system problem.

There is a system where he can flourish. But it's not a system issue that he's not a good footballer.

What's more alarming is that he appears to lack basic football awareness and instinct, he seems constantly behind the flow of the game, taking up the wrong positions which in turn make him unable to close the ball down effectively or be in the right position to receive a pass after the ball is turned over. It's these less tangible things which are causing me to feel sorry for him at this point such is how far out of his depth he looks for us.

Agreed.  When I say he’s not a good footballer. I mean generally. Including football IQ.  He’s a poor footballer at this level with a few great attributes.

You can blame systems for good players with some weaknesses not playing well.

We do need to support him but it is genuinely galling how bad he is fundamentally.

The ship has probably sailed now but if he's still highly rated at Forest maybe he could be used as a make weight in a deal to get Anderson back and then we can do what we probably should have done in the first place and go all out for Semenyo.

I would love to believe it's that easy to row back on a bad signing. Let's hope so.

Yeah I can’t understand why his ability to make a simple pass always fails - he constantly gives the ball away from a basic pass and that’s what’s infuriating me

Everyone seems mad keen on Semenyo.  But he is going through another one of his barren runs, the same as last season.  No goals or assists for 2 months, isn't it?!  I'm sure he'd get loads of support if that happened here on a regular basis

Hopefully he ends that tonight, anyway.
