I mean like last time I might be against the grain here but I wasn't overly convinced by that.

We did make some good chances but our actual goals were a) shit by Chelsea and b) fortunate (though we were due some luck).

Chelsea not scoring there is basically what has been happening to us recently. Wouldn't be surprised if their xG was higher than ours there. They were so wasteful in front of goal.

Happy with the win mind! And hopefully it's a nice confidence boost for us to kick on.

Was how I felt tbh. Very happy with the result and clean sheet but a bit unsure about if that performance translates into a tangible improvement against Arsenal.

Guess we'll see.

Tonali playing deeper and on set pieces was fantastic.

The Joe's where great, hall and Kelly should start at the weekend.

Krafth non stop running and big willy could of getting on the scoresheet had tino and big joe fed him.

I know this isn't the Chelsea of old and I also know that it's not their strongest line up, however I feel some are in danger of not seeing how big a win this is.

Knocked a big club out of the cup. Another QF for Eddie. A win. A clean sheet. Another goal for Isak.

Yeah,but ………

Some general thoughts:

  • Tonali looked really comfortable in the middle, would like to see him given more game time in that position.
  • Longstaff had a good game, he's not a sexy player, and I can't place it, but we seem to just play better when he's in the team.
  • Osula looked really strong and sharp when he came on, he certainly has the physical attributes to make it at this level.
  • Krafth may be the the most 7/10 player we have, ever time he plays, he's just unrelentingly solid.
  • The performance as a whole was such a step in the right direction, our press was their in the first half and our defensive shape in the second. If we can start finishing our chances we'll be back to our old self.
  • I love it when Bruno shithouses in the box.

Good 2nd half. Always better when we don’t have the ball. Terrible with it though, and leaving felix to waltz into the box in the first half could have cost us.

But, aye....apart from that ;D
