Would be more than happy to take those results tbh.

Obviously be a shame to see the demise of @HaydnNUFC, but he’s not even contributing the YouTube match build up threads now, so…

54 hijacks them these days. Blame him. Although the videos for this game will be exactly the same as last season's, such is the shitness of this fixture.

Feel like we're always trash at Selhurst Park

Our record there is very good. I've stopped travelling away as much as I used to in my younger days, but I've never seen us lose there. Prior to about 2014 (I think) we hardly ever dropped a point there. The last ten years or so has been a bit more mixed, but it's certainly not a bogey ground.

We've won once there in 11 years

Emmanuel Rivieire scored 2x there and Dummett in the same game once. It was a cup game like but if they can do it then so can our current lot.

Always hated the idea of comparing historical performance. This iteration of the team has no links with the Ashley team so it should have no reflection on the score.

We used to be on par with Palace, maybe they were even ahead of us under Ashley. We should be looking to beat the team that is 19th in the league away from home or not.

Haven’t we drawn 1-1, 0-0 and lost 2-0 under Howe at their placr, though? Playing pretty shit and looking toothless in all 3?

Yes squads and managers change. But I can understand people being a bit down on our chances. Especially after the shit show last night fresh in the memory and some pretty tame away performances this season.

The 1-1 was under Jones. Was utter AIDS if memory serves. The 0-0 we were by far the better side and just couldn't score, though we had a solid back line to fall back on then.

Usually not confident playing Palace away. They seem like a side that enjoys running with the ball, and our midfield set up kryptonite is having people run at them, as it’s so easy to break the lines and get at our defence.

All that said, we don’t finish top 7 last two seasons by not facing set backs and bouncing back as a team. So I’m expecting a response, even if it’s a gritty win (2-1).

Don’t win / another poor tactical performance, I will start to get more worried, as the two wins would then be more a fluky upturn, then it looking like a sign of improvements.

Agree. I haven't seen Palace since they sold Elise, but they seem the type of team that always has the sort of pacy runners that love the gaps we leave between the defence and midfield. Hopefully their latest versions will be the type to miss every chance that comes their way and we can take ours this time.

Feel like Palace are definitely not as bad as the league table shows , fully expect them to stay up. Would have been happy enough with a point had we beaten West Ham but feel like we need to win this game now even more so with Liverpool up next.

Hate the next fixture after a defeat, no matter who it's against. Always feel like we're on the verge of a crisis should we lose it.

No idea what to expect here. It all depends on which Newcastle turns up.

They're without Eze, Olise, Wharton and Anderson from those who played against us last time when we faced them. Should be a different game this time around..

That confirmed?  Sounds like he's back this weekend the bit I read this morning.

Olise didn’t play last season and they still battered us. Eze is back as well apparently.

I would imagine they've replaced Olise with someone along the same type, i.e., fast and powerful. Hopefully a shit finisher.

Not great Eze will be back, he'll probably have a field day. We really should be winning this though.

Yeah, well he came on for the last 20 (they also scored in that time), but probably didn't have a big impact.
