Never ceases to amaze me, the chutzpah of some of wor lot pre-away game 😂

General rule of thumb is win your home games, draw away. That'll always do.

I mean "their legs have gone" 😂😂

We're, consistently, more shit away than not yet still some expect us to go to top teams and walk it.

If we turn up, we'll give them a run for their money. I think we will.

We're higher in the away table than we are the home this season....down in 9th for home games

I’d imagine Grealish also?

Yeah, I'd imagine, their team would be something like. (seems to be the consensus on Blue Moon).

Ederson
Stones Khusanov Dias Gvardiol
Gonzalez Nunes
Savio Foden Marmoush
Haaland

They may have injuries and have focus on the return UCL game, but it's still a good team.

We could be missing Gordon, Barnes, Botman and Burn.

Doesn’t matter mate. Man United beat us and they’re crap. Pep will have Ederson in midfield, Nunes upfront, Haaland CB

They're above us, so if they're shit, not sure what we are? :)

Howe gives team news update...

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe gives updates on the fitness of Anthony Gordon, Sven Botman and Dan Burn:

"Anthony should be fine, he had a thigh problem but has responded well to treatment and has been training.

"There has been good news on the scan for Sven after his injury and it is not long-term. He will miss this weekend but hopefully won't miss games in the next few weeks.

"For Dan, initially, it did not look positive. He's had a scan, and it looks good; he is very close for this weekend."

Sounds like Burn might play. Botman will be March based on that and Howe’s usual doublespeak.

A shame if Botman misses the next 3. Just the sort of defender we needed in these games. Forest and Liverpool in particular with the pace they have going forward.

I wouldn’t associate Botman with pace mind. Kraft probably our quickest CB.

I’m not. We don’t have any quick CB’s.

He is quicker into tackles and still holds up better going up against fast players than Schar or Burn. I think they all can be aggressive. But I would say he is less likely to get rolled and exposed than the other two.

Hope Burn plays. Can match up with Haaland physically, at least.

What are people thinking we will start with for this? . 5-2-3 again with krafth for botman (looks like burn is fit) or  willock coming in to make it a 4-3-3 ?

Given City are not the most athletic side these days, I would think we'd want to go with a high press so back to a 4-3-3.

Teams do better home than away aye.

But relatively speaking - we are better away from home this season. Think we are top 5 for away points but midtable at home.

Hope it's 4-3-3 with Little Joe in for Big Joe. He might be able to build on his form after his brace last weekend. Also, we need his legs in midfield against these.

Bollocks to that. I hope it's 523, like against Arsenal (depending on which defenders are fit).

The key with City is turning them around and making their defence nervous. They are psychologically weak at the back.

I’m leaning more towards this than the system we used against Arsenal, for this game. Is Burn isn’t fit. Then we don’t even have that option tomorrow.

I'm not convinced Burn will start.

Howe did allude to him been potentially available, but then at the end of the conference said something about hoping his injury wasn't too serious.

Hard to read how close he is.
