I feel harsh rating him so low as he was so good for us for a good few seasons.  But you can't really say 'when match fit he is a C'.  As he is never match fit and looks totally past it when he does play now. 

 

I think even if he stayed fit between now and the end of the season, I'm not sure he'd suddenly start looking a lot better.  Injuries have caught up with him and he is a shadow of the player he once was.  Even last season he looked like he was more of a D than a C.  When he first signed, he would have been a B or a C.  But with every injury he's got.  He has got just that bit worse. 

 

Maybe a lower level PL club or somewhere abroad would take a punt on him.  But his injury record makes for grim reading.  For the sort of wages he'd be after, I'm not sure many would risk it.

Hard to give anything but a E to a 33 year old striker who has scored 3 goals in 16 months. 
Would probably still give him a pay when you play contract if he was interested. If stars align and he stays fit I think he still could be decent after getting match fit. Fantastic striker at his best.

No idea tbh  Probably possible to have a low basic wage and bonuses for certain things?

Think we're realising as we march through this exercise that our squad is 2 years past its sell by date outside the top guys. Even having Anderson and Minteh as squad options would look so much better than the aged perma-crocks we're currently harbouring. Fuck PSR.

That's not to say he hasn't contributed in the past or he's always been shit, at one point he was probably a B but those days are long gone. I need a fucking E to just cope with watching the cunt tbh

He's been really good for us, and Bournemouth. Hard to argue he's ever been a B, though. C+ I suppose. Maybe B- for a bit. Shame his career has taken such a dive due to injuries as I dont think its fair considering his previous career. But yeah it's like he no longer exists now so its an E.

Wilson: Great striker if fit. But that is a major IF. Probably  b or c when fit, but fitness means E i guess.

Gordon is next. Whilst his red against Brighton will be fresh in people's minds and can of course be a factor in your decision try to not let it cloud it too much.

Think Gordon is quality, personally. He's a pain in the arse for defenders even on an off day, and on an 'on' day he's a nightmare. Love his directness and workrate; wish his decision making was better at times. He's got a fire in his belly though and is slightly mercurial - love that in a player. 

 

I was absolutely miserable when I thought he was going to Liverpool (it ruined the Euros for me ) so I was ecstatic when we kept him. Totally gutted he's having to miss the final. He doesn't deserve that at all.

I got a bit of flak pre season for saying of all the purples we should potentially cash in on for PSR reasons it was him and that in some ways I saw him as a better Almiron type. 

 

I stand by this. 

 

When he's putting the work in he's great, but I find his technical abilities and decision making limited at times. Not bad by any means - it's why I consider him a better version of the Almiron mould. But when his head isn't in it or he's not feeling 100% he's just not the same player. 

 

Obviously when he is on it he can be really really good. I'd just like to see that more consistently.

He's somewhere between a B and C for me. Last season he was an easy B, this season he's been a C so far. Needs to sharpen up in his decision making and stop drifting in and out of games, for me.

Tricky one this , he's definitely not been anywhere near a B for the majority of this season, his attitude was poor at the start of the season as well when he didn't get his move to Liverpool. He definitely has a poor attitude as well when things aren't going his way or he's not suited . B last season but a C this season.
