We complain about the atmosphere at SJP, but that was the worst I’ve heard in a long time. Our lot seemed in good voice mind

I thought the same. You hear some terrible atmospheres but that was beyond belief. At times it was like the Covid-era, you could hear what the players and staff were shouting.

Yet again, our Eddie proves himself the master of the occasion. It would have been easier and safer to have rested or protected some players, but he went for it. Sunday will be a different matter, but at least we will now be entering the contest unafraid.

Our guy has cojones as well as brains. The selection of Joelinton with his 9 yellow cards was particularly noteworthy. Big Joe does like to get stuck in, but Eddie showed faith in him.

I’m all for a new ground but stadiums like that make me start to think is the grass always greener. West Ham fans absolutely hate it and you can’t blame them.

Tbf its not a football stadium, and its miles away from their old ground.  Next to fuck all around it bar a shopping centre too.

The owners saw a good financial deal and took it.

A minor miracle Joelinton wasn't carded too, 5 fouls [emoji38]

Thought that was the cliched good solid away performance. Defended well and deserved to win despite being nowhere near our best.

Think we got lucky with the goal. Isak didn't even try to play the ball and just pushed him and the ref gave fouls from softer pushes after the goal.

ive seen VAR disaalow them but Isak barely touched him and the guy did a swan dive which didnt help his case.

I think losing it's local touch in London more or less killed any affinity the fans would have felt for it. It might be in east London, but Spurs competing to play there makes it seem like any club in London could call it their home ground really.

Not that I think we were really lucky or anything, but I think we've been 'owed' a match like that for a while. Earlier in the season we had a few matches (Brighton, West Ham, Everton) where we could so easily have won but due to luck, poor finishing, and sucker punches we just couldn't get there. Last night could so easily have ended up being a match we look back on with annoyance, so it's nice to see us win one like that where it was ground out.

Similar to Ashley Young v Man Utd, don’t make a fucking meal of it.

Joelinton getting booked isn't a major issue at the moment for me. Best that he plays his normal game and if he is suspended he will miss games whereby playing Miley could be a better option, i.e. 'easier' home games where we will have more possession.

could be a huge win that, both for morale and confidence ahead of the final as well as league position

it actually felt like a Ten Hag era MU win - poor performance in many aspects and slices of luck going our way for a change

(thought the decisions to allow our goal and not give them a pen were correct but you do see them given)

worked well for Ten Hag delivering cups if not much else

If Joelinton picked up another yellow card last night, he would have missed Brentford and Leicester, not the cup final. He's still got 4 league matches to go to avoid the 2 match ban as well.
