Does no one want to talk about Bruno?  You know, that brilliant Brazilian footballer we have?  What did any of you see how he contributed at all tonight?  I seriously need to know.

His block for the goal bound shot started a chain reaction in the crowd that carried us for a few minutes and lead to our winner.

Made himself available even with players around him.

One of the few players to choose the right pass in the final third but admittedly under hit nearly all of them.

Not a great night for him but would apply to virtually the whole team tonight. Tino probably the only one who came away with a high mark then probably Tonali then Burn.

The two terrible tackles in the box that should have been penalties.  But we will forgive that because......... well its Bruno.  He's mental man, we love him.

After careful reflection I’ll give Bruno a pass on tonight after scoring the winner in our last PL game and then becoming the first Captain to lift a domestic trophy on 70 years.

This is exactly what I'm on about. Pathetic reasoning.  He was crap tonight, just admit it.  You will not burst into flames by admitting it.

I didn’t even watch the match tonight but having spent a very many hours watching messrs Xisco, Rivière, de Jong et al. play for Newcastle over very many years I am willing to bet that Bruno in a 2-1 home win against a mid-table side was not ‘crap’.

Fuck me, what is it with some people - we’ve won ten out of the last 14 games and we’re 5th in the league with a game in hand, finally won a trophy, just broke a record with having a goal scorer whose scored more than 20 goals in two back to back seasons and our captain “boils your piss”. I honestly don’t get the crazy fucking expectations some have on here

I'm talking about one performance tonight that happened to be crap.  Nothing more, nothing less.  Bruno was crap tonight.

Bruno wasn't shite like. Lead by example on a few occasions. I don't feel anyone was particularly excellent or shite tbh.

Stand out players for us were Joelinton, Tino and Tonali.

Overall it was a pretty standard PL game.

Bruno was shite and could easily have given two penalties away by his abysmal tackling.  You know it but can't bring yourself to slag off wor Bruno.

I did think he'd given a pen away at least once like.

He didn't though. 9/10.

Had to listen on the radio tonight and then watched the highlights later, so maybe this is nonsense.

First penalty shout I thought would have been very soft. But if it was given, I can't see it being overturned either, so agreed that was daft.

On the second one, even their manager didn't really dispute it - but it was an on the edge challenge where a fraction of misjudgement means a pen. He was just on the right side of that one, but it was still reckless.

In general it sounded like Tonali was running the show, never mind that amazing goal. That fair?

I thought Bruno was poor and very lucky not to give away a pelanty a couple of times - it was one of those nights.  But what matters is the result.  Hopefully Miley can develop fast and give us an option to take Bruno off when he has games like today - no-one should be undroppable.
