Would genuinley put that at 50/50 currently. Liverpool clearly don't want to pay the money it will take.

They’d pay it in a heartbeat. Dunno where you are getting that from?

Because they haven't even bid. They're 'waiting for encouragement' to bid. Basically they're waiting till our position has been weakened to the point where we need to ask them bid and, in their eyes, lower the price to a more reasonable amount.

I feel this has been addressed a dozen times. What do u think the answer will be if we don’t have a single other striker on the books? Even if we wanted to sell him Liverpool know we’d be mental to sell him with zero strikers on the books. I can guarantee if we get a striker thru the door they’ll bid within hours

Or they are just waiting until we find a replacement. Eddie has a good relationship with the Liverpool guy.

I don’t think our position can really get weaker. I feel like it’s more likely to get stronger the longer we go without a new striker.

The less likely we are to get a proper forward in the worse we’ll look (and play) if we let Isak go.

You reckon Liverpool will pay £150-180m in a heartbeat?

No but I don’t it’ll be £150m-£180m reckon £140m plus add ons and he’ll go if we have a replacement. Liverpool can afford it

If we can’t find a replacement then I think we keep him. I really can’t see Liverpool paying the fee that we want and we won’t sell this summer unless it comes close to it.

He will miss the first few games of the season and then we’ll slowly integrate him back into the team. It’s a World Cup year and he’ll want to play a part in the season.

It’s also the reason why someone like Wissa is an important signing to make.

Stuff like this is the absolute pits. Either say why you know or don't bother, nee one's interested in any 'can't say how I know' nonsense from random posters.

Nah, they won't. Liverpool's just trying to box us in, you know, get a bit of an edge in the talks..  They were offering 120/30, which was with add ons included, but we want 150, and most of it now. Liverpool won't go for that.

Wrongly addressed.  So you telling me Liverpool are waiting for us to buy a striker to bid? So we get wissa they bid? We need 2 strikers going into the season.

I think Liverpool see Isak as a market opportunity, not a pressing need. They already have Ekitike.  So they won't force the issue especially if we demanding a kings ransom. They will wait till we ask them to bid, so that they have a bit of leverage in the talks. Once we get a striker (wissa) we are in a much stronger position to be firm on our valuation, unless we get 2 strikers through the door
