He has to replace one of the best strikers in Europe it's obvious this would be the Isak replacement. 

 

I know the optimist will try but truthfully at those prices this deal doesn't have many upsides for us.

Geordie Journos saying it's unlikely mainly because:

 

1. He's expensive

2. He's only a couple of years into an 8 year contract

3. He's on sky high wages

4. He doesn't want to leave Chelsea

 

But Chelsea want rid of him and we'd have a free run at him because no one else is in for him unsurprisingly

Will give it a watch when I get to the office. They aren't always right but they are more like fans than journalists tbh I don't mind them

If he has 6 years left on a £100k a week contract, I don't see how wages would be a problem. He should be fine with £125k at most.

Wages aren't an issue, just got to hope we have a modicum of intelligence not to pay stupid prices.

At this point I wouldn't put anything past us.  

 

Whatever we are doing this summer is an absolute disaster and should not be repeated. The brain trust should be fired into the sun.

you can bet no one else would offer even 50m for him, lets assume we dont go for him, who does at what price? Villa maybe if they flog Watkins? or PIF to a Saudi club?

 

I am against this move but if Howe wants him offer 40m and tell them take it or keep him in the bomb squad...

 

he is also off with Senegal for 5/6 weeks during the Christmas period, with crucial CL games, FA cup ad PL schedule

IMO if they bought him for 35 or so he's worth 40. I don't think he has shown himself to be that great at present. Maybe Eddie can train him up??

Another thought on this lad, Chelsea play 4231 a lot of Jackons good work comes from Combination play with Palmer. 

 

We play 433 where our striker is often isolated, totally different systems and styles of play. Jackson isn't capable of holding up the ball particularly well and obviously isn't suited to playing as a target which we often try to do. 

 

His pressing has been cited but note often than not these days we don't press that high and with the extra games we have I expect even more game management from us which is something we did a lot of last season.
