I was at the match at home to Charlton when we went 3-0 and lost 4-3.  Perfect Ossie Ardiles match.

Encapsulated the ossie babes era that game - remember my dad taking me to that. First half mint, 2nd half capitulation abd the corner chanting “shit”, “shit” , “shit”

Complete wet fart of a second half :) - funny thing is that you know Ossie wouldn’t have said ‘just sit on it lads, tuck in tight and don’t give them space’

I really hope we are not playing the same style as we have done for majority of this season

I doubt we will, in the sense that we haven’t really been able to play our style this season because our attack hasn’t functioned. But you look at our good seasons and regular features have been things like fast transitions and headers from crosses. Woltemade is neither fast nor particularly good in the air. I think our attack will be better next year but I can’t see it being one particularly well suited to Woltemade.

Imagine performing like Elanga all season, then being angry when you don’t get bought on [emoji38]

Couldn’t agree more.

2nd half was a disgrace really and the 1st half was probably the best we ever played under Ossie [emoji38]

Not sure if that was his last home game in charge (would have been that one or Bournemouth in the Cup) but it was right at the very end of his era.

Ground was absolutely dead as well. Definitely our smallest Saturday crowd of that season.

Have we ever been 3-0 up and lost 4-3?

Maybe not this year (though hope springs eternal) but we certainly have made a habit of taking a lead then conceding late and throwing away league points.

it’s a shame, but it feels inevitable that Nick is gone this summer.

Here is an honest question. Is it worth £69M to avoid relegation?

Starting to feel inevitable he moves on in the summer. Hope I'm wrong.

I feel the opposite. Howe's pre-match comments were very encouraging.

I really don't see how he would ever fit in a Howe team tbh.

And yet our record signing didn't get off the bench

I think he’ll end up on loan in Germany next season with clauses to make it permanent. I don’t think we’ll get a big enough bid this summer.

He didn't. It very much feels like he's getting the Lewis Hall treatment.

Firminho at Liverpool probably, but we need our wingers to put up numbers.

We obviously didn't just pay a record fee for a player we have no plan for.

Precisely this. I think he needs to be moved on and bring a striker to who fits Howe physical style. Tall and athletic.

How much were the fees being banded around for Osula by German clubs? Was it around £30m? Bayern prior were prepared to pay £45m for Woltemade last summer?

Because nothing has worked this season, we've been shit. Hopefully next year we can implement whatever system Howe wants us to play and all of our players won't look shite.

We scouted Woltemade, we would have known about the "is he a 9 or a 10" talk.

Feels at the moment like a panic buy and because Bayern were interested in him and pulled out there was then an opportunity we didn't think we'd have and we were absolutely desperate to sign a "striker"

Very little so far has suggested we have a plan for Nick

Well personally I'm going to believe that we bought a player we have a plan for and not assume we blew record money on a lad we had no idea what we were going to do with purely out of panic.

I mean it looks like we've done little scouting on Elanga if we thought he was worth £55mil
