We had quality chances second half to get 3, 4 goals and energy levels of the first were never happening to see out the game.

Yeah. I do think some fans genuinely expect us to play with a press like that for 90 minutes

Of course there is a balance to be struck and we shouldn’t drop off too much for too long. But I’m not sure we did today. If anything, we were too open for large spells and very gung ho.

There are two teams in every game. They had to come out and take more risks and push us back. They have no end of quality on the ball and proper athletes across the team.

I don’t buy that it is always us choosing to just sit deep. Although that has been the case far too often this season, TBF.

Nah, I just expect us to be decent without it.

This season we have defended without pressure on the ball too often. Sat too deep too often and generally been passive. What did we do wrong today?

I thought the midfield were more of the problem at times second half. Along with the front 3 needing to be changed 5-10 earlier.

Once we lose that pressure. The

midfield all get stretched and we become piss easy to play through.

I thought we were pretty good for the most part and despite the draw feeling like a defeat and some gripes. At least it feels like a step in the right direction.

We’ve not played like that all season. Certainly not for such sustained spells.

Not at all. It was a great entertaining game that happened to have a blatant penalty ignored by the referee and VAR. Of course fans are going to discuss the non penalty. You just come across as disagreeing with EVERYONE just to be different/awkward.

Maybe it was a penalty, but now for example people here have called James on Barnes a clear pen, when it was outside of the box clearly. Wolte handball when Fofana’s arm by his side.

i am disagreeing bc I am tired that nowadays, in every level of football, when things are not going your way, people whine about refs and dont talk about the game itself.

Couple weeks ago Schär clattered Foden in our box, no one was complaining when it wasnt a penalty, which it clearly was.

Says it all that it's another situation that we're talking about and not this one. Barnes was one on one after being played in by Wissa. James slides in, takes Barnes down, doesn't get the ball.

You say subjective like there are subjective opinions on it. Everyone thinks it was a pen.

You're also saying this like it happens often. I can't remember the last time the result came down to debating a shocking refereeing performance.

Not everyone thinks it’s a pen.

It happens every week. Not perhaps only on here, but I follow a lot of other teams’ conversations also. It is sooo often about refs and how poor they were

Yea, James gets the ball and Barnes was most likely slightly offside also. Just looked it again.

Barnes’ reaction tells it all: nothing.

Very good performance. We were the better side over 90 mins. Chelsea scored two goals from nothing and we were unfortunate to draw. A bit more luck and we’d have won.

I think the frustration is really that if we’d played like that against Sunderland (or even West Ham) we’d be in a lot stronger position in the league. As it is, games like Chelsea feel like a must-win, which they really shouldn’t be.

Aye, you've shown your hand there in terms of being on the wind up. He doesn't get the ball and Barnes isn't offside, but you know that already.

Are you a VAR official?

Cant really fault them today. First half brilliant, second half although not as good we still created plenty of chances and obviously should have had a penalty.

Like you say, there's no way we can play like we did first half for 90 minutes every single game. Its impossible.

Disappointing to throw away a 2 goal lead and 2 points, but the positives today far outweigh the negatives.

A draw was a fair result. It's just another typical performance. Frustrating season so far. Played well for 35mins and then couldn't control the game anymore.

Nah, absolutely not a fair result

I think we had 6 or 7 big chances. How many did Chelsea have?
