We need a tactical overhaul, but can’t implement it with the current schedule, so it’s more of the same for the foreseeable.

Give the 442 a try, compact midfield without loads of width. Spaces we leave in the midfield is shocking with 3 men in there too.

Barnes / Gordon playing off Nick / Wissa, what way round you choose that pairing is anyone’s guess though

naah. We had players up, and when we lost the ball Villa ran 3v3 or 2v2.

Our ability with the ball is shocking.

Naaah. We often sit to deep, on corners for example we have 11 players in our own box. In open play when we are not countered on, we put 11 players defending from 20-25 meters. How are we going to counter attack any team without any players up front? Leave atleast 1 or 2.. we do build up slow and try to find an opening or rely on mistakes. If you watch our corners we put our players next to the goalkeeper and hit it close to goal and hope we get a foot or head on the ball and it goes in.

When Steve Bruce was the manager we even had 1vs3 etc, it didnt mean we where having a good attack..

Our last two seasons we have relied to much on Isak imo. I do think we need to go back to the basic, give them more freedom, more high pressure and free flowing football.

Fwiw

Their manager is odious

Their keeper is a cunt

The way they were dropping on the floor at every opportunity pissed me right off BUT I'd laugh my tits off if they won the league.

Be hilarious

clever manager.

great keeper.

We got sucked in to a game of football, unfortunately. If we could’ve kept it nasty and physical and outrun them we might have nicked something. Very pissed off atm. Ups and downs though.

I know plenty reckon Emery’s bang average and will be found out but I think he’s good and has coached his team into better players than they were.

Once we got back to our relentless high intensity I think we’ll be formidable again.

We missed Murphy today.

Who could think Emery is bang average, that's demonstrably not true.

Loads reckon he couldn’t lace Eddie’s boots.

I think it’s closer than that.

Still happy with what we have, obvs.

Absolutely fuming at this, like . Villa are a poor side full of cunts with a twat manager and twat fans and somehow get all the luck. Cunts.

I don't think they were lucky to be honest. Sure the goal is low xg because it's from range but it's intentional and something they've been doing on a regular basis.

I don’t really see that tbh. In fact I don’t see much value in their attacking play at all this season.

They’ve just been consistently and inexplicably fortunate like Forest were last season when Wood was banging in 4 half chances a game and Mats fucking Sels was somehow the best keeper in the league every game.

We had the better chances in the game today, as poor as we were.

Where has anyone said this? As far as I've seen it's only ever been a defense of Howe against people who have a grass is always greener outlook and think the sun shines out Emery's arse.

Watching this back the main frustration is the same one I have whenever I watch Villa, I don't think they're that good.

Think so much of this talk of us not doing this, that and the other is really overstated as well tbh. It's becoming clearer and clearer to me that the problem we have is finishing chances, not creating them. For all this talk of us being predictable, it doesn't seem to stop us still getting in excellent positions to score and I do feel like it's coming.

The amount of crosses that go across the face of the opposition goal does my head in, man. Callum Wilson of even 2 seasons ago would have 20 goals by now this season.
