£22m seems pretty high for a prospect from the French second tier to me

I'd imagine the promise of first team football probably made the difference. We'd be buying him for the future and he's thinking of his career in the now, not such a bad thing and not a failure on our part.

If true, again we have ask what due diligence is being done on these transfers - the lad wants to stay in France (reasonable), but how are we not aware of this before we’re negotiating?  It’s fucking amateur hour stuff if this is the case. 

 

Granted, ‘if’ is doing a lot of heavy lifting there.

Agree with this actually.

 

We can offer some of the best prospects 18-22 something fairly unique and v. good wages too. I thought we would have RB/Dortmund type pull but guess not.

Seems he preferred to stay in Paris so echoes of the Ekitike pursuit.
