Better question for the locals mate.

I hope that proposed hotel would be something of quality - an upscale higher end hotel that can hopefully be a proper / major hotel  brand. Quality of the hotels in Newcastle need some improvements. Assuming continued NUFC upward trajectory + investment like this for a convention center and arena - it should lead to higher quality lodging.

Worries over. Hearing the West Parade's re-opening.

A big turntable.???

Reinstate the tuxedos dancefloor under the pitch and have it constantly rotating until it generates enough speed to leave the atmosphere.

It’s an ibis/Novotel but that image posted by Manorpark has subsequently been changed and the hotel will no longer be on front of the building.

The old fire station being redeveloped by the Reuben’s will be the city centre’s first 5 star hotel.

Hasn't it already been shown that the Arena site is already taken for housing development and also isn't big enough for a new stadium either.  Pretty sure it was on one of those Youtube videos about the expansion.

yes, that's right. I suppose like strawberry place, until the first brick gets laid people will see it as an option

There is no single Tyne and Wear council.

Also it’s worth noting that our councils don’t operate like they do in other countries like the USA. Our councils get a small allocated amount of money to operate day to day things. If they want to improve anything then they have to bid to central government for funding and compete against other councils, often against their neighbouring councils.

They also do not have the ability to leverage a local sales tax and or business rates to fund projects such as stadiums.

A new stadium would far exceed any potential pot any council would bid for, and I doubt any of them would be suitable towards a new stadium.

On top of this you also have the fact that we are currently ran by a Tory government who do have any sort inclination to spend public money, let alone on a football club that is now regarded as having the richest owners in sport. Then again the Reubens are Tory donors.

Yep.  It certainly seemed to help bag West Ham a free new stadium.

They only really got that because they were building it for the Olympics and realised that if they let the athletics have it to themselves, then it would cost too much.

They should have just sold the site to West Ham and let them build their own stadium.

Why do that when you can gift them a free stadium on the taxpayers’ coin?
