Thats right, we can’t start extending until after euro 2028 as SJP is hosting games

Yeah, that would be a bit shit. Lets say they commence 2029, 3 year programme. That's pretty much a decade from buy out.

There will be plenty when the prices are jumping 30% for people who were on the 10 year deal

Be more than 30%: £467 -> £764 (assuming another 5% average price hike next season) so that'll be near on a 64% increase for a seat in the gallowgate for those coming off the "10 year" deal

This just a hunch or have you heard something?

Was it not Manor Park that said the Gallowgate wasnt structurally strong enough to simply extend? Would need completely removed and rebuilt as it was literally built over the old footprint or something

Why on earth would the lease not be agreed though?

Newcastle City Council aren’t exactly the easiest in the world to deal with

The only way to achieve 60k+ is to expand the Gallogate, surely? But they've just about completed the Stack which is to remain in place for 3 years. Something doesn't tally.

Gallogate? Fuckin hell!

I reckon they'll demolish the East Stand and rebuild full of hospitality.

After being there at the weekend, the view you get from those seats is too primo to be a "standard" price.

The Stack is literally just shipping containers. You can pick it up and move it in a week if needed.

AirBNB deal with the terrace houses behind.

Yeah, put the posh seats and the cameras in the East Stand and make the rest amazing I reckon.  I still think three big sides and one small looks like Parkhead which looks amazing I think, and doesn't traditionally struggle for atmosphere.

Oh and change the font back

Mentioned this a few weeks ago - to have no corporate at all running along the entire touchline isn't sustainable to maximising income. Corporate is going to be one of the next big cash injections we need to push on

Quite disappointed it’s not a new stadium, however hopefully it’s something innovative and not just a copy of the Leazes at the Gallowgate. Personally think the two bigger stands are terrible.

i'm more worried about the reduced capacity for a couple of years whilst its rebuilt.

They didn't reduce capacity building the Milburn/Leazes extension, so fingers crossed

Overly romantic and maybe being different for differents sake but I'd still like a Tyne Bridge arc in a Gallowgate extension.  Squeezes an extra thou in and would look purdy.

I'm pretty much expecting everything short of a new stadium. Once the works done, I imagine it will look radically different, new roof, new seats, new layout, new corporate, new media area, new dugouts and changing rooms.

SJP needs to be fit for purpose but by keeping the ground in the same location, you keep it's soul alive.

I think the compromise might be a major stadium sponsorship, perhaps not the name itself but pretty much everything else. Undoubtedly from the middle east. 20m per year for the next 20 years wouldn't half pay for some of the expansion costs.

Imagine something like SELA in neon lights shining across the city, which don't forget you can see as far as the A1. I think I can just about take this compromise for a class stadium.
