More likely converting Gallowgate to reflect the west/leazes stand design, connecting it to the west stand and add more safe seating.

I’m all for a hover stadium or a sliding East stand though.

The most disappointing option and would fuck the atmosphere at St James forever.

Forgive my ignorance, is safe seating actually safe standing with seats?

This is what it's like in Orlando:

No seats, but there is only one spot for one person. They don't pack them in or anything, it just brings the energy up.

Not sure what the laws are like over there though.

Convert the entire East Stand to this imo.

It’s very much like that, except that we have to have a seat that goes with it. Some clubs have it so the seat is locked on match days when you can have standing, others have it so you can just flip the seat down and seat if you wish.

The latter is what SJP park, minus the cup holders.

So there is over 100 companies wanting to get a corporate box who can’t, and some people on here still think at most we’ll get level 7 on the Gallowgate end?

Well devils advocate if you just do L7, and move all the east stand season ticket holders up there, and redo the east stand you could turn the whole east stand corporate and get most of the income. Swap season ticket holders paying hundreds for boxes earning thousands. Easiest way to boost revenue, as it’s the corporate option that is lacking compared to other grounds.

You said you think a new stadium would be multi billions, that won’t get paid for out of season tickets costing thousands.

It depends on what the Board decide the aim of the stadium is. Atmosphere or cash.

Could see all the East Stand mob being absolutely buzzing with being shifted to L7.

Might need to install another lift though.

It'd be cost prohibitive with all those defibrillators

The East stand used to have boxes in it, and to be honest if there is 100+ companies on the waiting list for one, it still isn't going to put a dint in taking that list down, especially if the club becomes successful.

With a new stadium, they will build a venue that can host other events, with a Gallowgate extension they are simply maintaining a stadium that hosts 19 football matches per year. In all honesty, the price won’t be an issue to the owners. The value of the club so far has already tripled since they came in. A new stadium, some success, the value of the club could triple again. Run NUFC right, and the club alone will have a £5bn price tag in the next 10 years.

The government took their money away from Casement Park too which cost Northern Ireland its place in Euro 2028, if they fund this...

It probably would have to be held in 2030 to have Casement ready in time.

Talk of it going to Cork now. That'd be good, it probably should have been a venue anyway.

More frustration over not getting tickets in the ballot.

Need to just come out and say what they are doing. Having thousands of people paying money in the hope of getting a ticket is a pure piss take.

I want to think so but not sure where the space in the city is

We’ll see (eventually) though

I doubt there's space in any city for stadiums this size, unless the ground was already purchased decades ago when cities were less developed. I'm guessing most modern super stadiums are built outside of the cities where there's more open ground.
