Sima
Bit risky putting those LED steps in the East Stand like. Cynical way to cut season ticket holders so they can sell more match day tickets?
Danh1
Them double LED screens are truly awful mind, hope that’s not what the plan is

cubaricho
It’s way more likely to not be some advertising conspiracy. They have to dig the whole thing out to put in the new under-turf systems. Why not just take the opportunity to take most of the slant out?

nufcjb
If we do go for a new stadium on Leazes Park, would it still be visible across the city? Or would it need some kind of Wembley arch/feature to be seen?
Sima
Would still be visibile. There’s not a sudden dip once you get to the Leazes End.

Tsunami
If we do build a new stadium partly on the existing footprint could we at the same time upgrade the Gateshead Stadium. If you could get that up to a capacity to house all ST holders for maybe a season while the rest of the stadium is completed you could then leave the lasses with a better stadium to play in. Gateshead would then have a better stadium for both their team and bid for proper athletic events again. Great PR and something for the NE. Never going to happen but The International Stadium is currently neither nowt nor something. Hell, could even bid for the Commonwealth Games.

There’s tens of thousands of regular match goers who wouldn’t or couldn’t buy a season ticket in the Ashley era for a variety of reasons. We just not allowed to go to games for a season or two ? Tsunami
When the alternatives are a complete rebuild on a new footprint or Murrayfield, there’s not much left. And yes, ST will always get 1st dibs.
