That was Middlesbrough when his son was a ball boy. Thought of that one but think he must've been talking about an earlier one.

Was the Gallowgate still standing while they were working on it the earliest PL seasons? I know his son wasn't born yet during his 80s spell.

1987 against Villa Tony Cunningham and Beardsley goals in 2-1 win.

My favourite player ever seen live, that goal against Brighton (?) from the edge of the box man.

Not keen on some of his behaviour and its a shame but the best IMO obvs, player I've seen regularly, loved HBA but Pedro for me like.

Gazza was who I remember when I started going as a kid - watching him sat on my dad’s shoulders (which is painful on your arse, even as a little ‘un).

Beardsley was the better player, mind.

Beardsley > …

If he had a better PR team and better looks you are probably talking about one of if not the greatest English player we’ve seen in his position. Genius is overused these days but Beardsley was a genius.

Criminally ignored by the southern press as the blab on about the likes of Zola (who had similar traits as a player and person) and Di Canio. Neither could tie his shoe laces.

Kennedy (I know, I know) saying 18 months until work starts on whatever it is that they choose. Seems to be quite soon given that we have no idea what’s going to happen, considering stuff like planning permission will be required.

Made clear what I want to happen, but I don’t think it will and I’ve accepted it. Can’t deny I’m a bit excited for it all to come out. Still irks me that Natalie Noyes will know before anyone that matters.

‘18 months until work starts’ is not how construction works - you can set a completion date, but without detailed plans you can’t program it.  His argument about ‘£250m isn’t the same as £200m’ is also absolute bollocks given that - if it’s happening - it will likely barely be at concept design and therefore no estimate is likely to have a confidence range of less than 25%.  The standard of NE football journalism is pitiful (they get paid buttons, so it hardly attracts the best) and Liam Kennedy is absolutely full of shite, like.

Gallowgate went all seater at the start of the 94/95 season and was briefly renamed the Exhibition Stand.

Was still a terrace during our first PL season, although they chopped it in half for the 2nd part of that season as the new stand was constructed.

Sorry like, but even 18 months from now would be wishful thinking for work starting on the stadium. I’ve said before, we are at least 6 years from moving in, and that’s with a 3 year build time. Planning permission for a new stadium will take at least a year, and that’s without it being called up by central government, which if we are building on Castle Leazes, or in anyway encroaching on Leazes Park, then it will be.

Of course. Should’ve guessed that one.

Well we’ve the Euros in 2028 so assuming we don’t pull out of hosting that I’d suggest that new ground looking most likely though not definite. As ground HAS to be in full working order 6 months prior to the competition starting in June so that would be January 2028.

Who was the commentator that practically came in his pants over Albert's chip....that should sell anything to anyone?

Sorry like, but Manchester is one of the last places the government should be providing funding too for projects such as this. London and the South East aside, Manchester is the number one place where private companies will be lining up to invest in.

Funding should be going to places that are struggling for funding from private companies.

I try to keep the politics to the politics threats, but I would say that if Reeves isn’t on a mission to make Reform as attractive to the forgotten North as possible then she’s just fucking incompetent.
