Guest
D. Bent, Ashton, Tevez. Diawara the centre-back at Charlton would be a decent cut-price squad member. The rest, no thanks.
Nobby
Chrlton: Young, Carson West Ham, Tevez, Mascherano, Ashton Watford: Hameur Bouazza(been very impressed by him, although as Watford got 9m for Young I dont want to know how much they would be asking for!) Liverpool are not going to get relegated you know.. Mascherano is ON LOAN No he's not. Liverpool have signed him permanently. http://za.today.reuters.com/news/newsArticle.aspx?type=sportsNews&storyID=2007-02-21T071832Z_01_BAN126297_RTRIDST_0_OZASP-SOCCER-ENGLAND-LIVERPOOL-MASCHERANO-20070221.XML Liverpool's official website backs this up. these say ON LOAN: http://icliverpool.icnetwork.co.uk/0100news/tm_headline=mascherano--i-won--8217-t-be-wasting-anfield-lifeline&method=full&objectid=18658277&siteid=50061-name_page.html http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/l/liverpool/6267319.stm http://www.tribalfootball.com/article.php?id=29564 http://sport.scotsman.com/football.cfm?id=276592007 http://www.abc.net.au/sport/content/200702/s1852978.htm and more
Dr Spectrum
And if we're talking City players, Samaras, Barton, Distin and Corradi. Distin is walking anyway. Samaras will be off home (Not got the bottle to play in theis league unfortunately) Barton could end up at Newcastle, Everton, Villa Corradi is fucking shite and will be off to Italy to play for someone shite. Richards to Chelsea. Isaksson to anyone that will give him a game (And he'll be ace) Trabelsi to disappear to someone with a fat wallet Beasley back to PSV altho no-one will notice Vassel to whoever gets promoted (not Birmingham) Dunne to whoever makes a silly offer of far more than he's worth. Happy days :'( PS: I thought Liverpool have signed Mascherano permemantly from MSI, thats the reason there's no Premier League charge for them for playing him... Rich
Surprised by how few people have said Lucas Neill or Matthew Upson, both a lot better than the vast majority (if not all) of our defenders and both with clauses in their contracts allowing them to leave West Ham if they get relegated. Along with Ashton and Tevez they'd be the main ones I hope we'd be in for.

Some say he's on loan from West Ham and some say he's on loan from Corinthians?! The reason I thought it was a permanent deal was because I saw that he'd signed an 18 month contract. I thought players could only be loaned for a 12 month period? Guess it must have changed.

Has Trabelsi been any good for you lot? Yes. Played out of position on the right wing for most of the season (odd game at Right Wing Back) but he's fucking class, and there has been no sign of his dodgy knee/heart. If you're wondering about whether or not you missed the boat last summer, well yeah, you did. I'm sure he'll be off in the summer tho, he signed a 1+2 year contract and I can't see him taking up the option to stay (if he has a choice). I can see him at Portsmouth. If we don't go in for him then we want a slap, again. To think of the defence we might have had this season of free transfer players, it's quite frightening. Glad to hear he's been good for you, shame about the vast majority of the rest of them.
Belfast Boy
If we are talking all relegated clubs then I would take David Healey from Leeds as a backup foward. Checkout his hatrick against Spain, it was pure quality.

Had a couple of good years in 2003 & 2004 but before that there was nothing of note apart from being "potential".
SEMTEX
I'd take King as back up like a shot, I've seen Bangura and he's crap Burnip mate. Other than that, I'd pick 2 out of Bent, Ashton, Tevez and Hasselbaink for a year. lol, i hate it! no matter how long i've known someone or how much i push for them to call me dan i ALWAYS end up getting called Burnip. stupid rubbish surname. p.s. al bangura is good as hasselbaink is cack. Guest
Why's no-one mentioned Ambrose?! Loads of people were slagging Souness off when we sold him yet he's not exactly pulling up many trees at Charlton. Granted he's scored a couple in the last few games. Guest
In fact, quite a few people had a go at him for selling Hughes, Robert & Kluivert, not renewing Bernard's contract, and not giving Viana a chance to prove himself. The only one he let go who I'd have back is Bellamy.

Guest nufc_geordie
Cant believe some people are mentioning Noble after 1 goal, im pretty confident at best people had barely even heard of him before I have a mate who is a west ham fan and I saw him play a couple of games last year as well. Everytime I have seen him (must be getting on for ten times now) he has performed and for such a young players gets a grip of the midfield and makes things happen. Would certainly consider him. I totally forgot about Matthew Upson, would have him here in a shot to play alongside Taylor next season.
