Finally We're NOT Top of this League...

PhysioRoom Injury League Table

I know this is probably asking for trouble, but today is the first time in ages that I can remember where we do not sit at the VERY TOP of the "most injured players" table on that website. Granted, we're still joint-second and could quite easily find ourselves back at the top after next week, but for now we can sleep a little easier in the news that we are not the most injury-hit squad in the Premier League. Also, Ramage and Moore are back in full-training and will probably be in the squad for the away leg of this UEFA Cup round.

seeing that 3 of arsenal's players are due back in 5 days, we'll be tops again shortly.  glad to see a return date next to krul's name, it's a shame he missed some chances to start games ahead of pav earlier in the year. not crazy about babayaro, but can't wait for the end of march so we can bump carr's name from the team sheet.

Is that really a good thing though? Don't want to give Roeder too much decision making to do :D

In fairness to Roeder, he did alright with his selection against AZ and on one other occasion I can remember this season! Two out of a lot ain't bad.

C Babayaro

T Krul

P Ramage

C Moore

S Ameobi

M Owen

Only Michael Owen would be a first teamer, and Babayaro at a stretch.

With Martins and Sibierski in such fine form, Glenn Roeder can no longer use the injury situation as excuses.

Roeder never uses injuries as an excuse, you know this by how often he tells us that we have a lot of injuries but he won't use that as an excuse ;)

lol - exactly. And he has the media constantly telling everyone how 'ravaged Newcastle have been by injuries', how we've 'been so unlucky with injuries', etc. etc.

How is Babayaro a first teamer "at a stretch"?

Because he is our only fit left back, and it is a statistical fact that we get better results when playing him there than we do when playing a player out of position.

Chelsea 1 J Cole fractured foot May 07

What was Mourinho's problem about having no players fit?

This is majorly out of date considering John Terry is not fit, Wayne Bridge is out for the season with knee surgery just off the top of my head.
