Skirge
We have 7 games left and are in 11th on 37 points, win our remaining 7 games and that gives us 58 points. I wanted to post the remaining fixtures, but we are not allowed. Man U - 78 Chelsea - 72 Liverpool - 57 Arsenal - 55 Bolton - 50 Spurs - 48 Everton - 46 Reading - 44 Pompey - 43 Blackburn - 40 Newcastle - 37 Boro - 36 Man City - 36 Fulham - 35 Villa - 34 Wigan - 33 Shef -

Skirge
I was just wondering where Roeder was getting his ideas from about European football next season, there is no way we are going to win our remaining 7 games but even if by some miracle we did, it would still not be enough!! M4
win our remaining 7 games ... that statement makes all this hypothetical thinking completely irrelevant I'm afraid.

Because we could still qualify for the UEFA cup if we came 7th (depending on the FA Cup final), and then there's the Intertoto. We could actually finish 10th and still get a place in that. Skirge
Aye but the way Glenn is tlaking its as though he still fancies 6th, when really 7th is out of reach..
Troll
Let's assume for a moment that every club was to finish in the position they are now, and that the FA Cup final was between Man Utd and Chelsea. 1. Man U - 78 CL 2. Chelsea - 72 CL 3. Liverpool - 57 CL 4. Arsenal - 55 CL 5. Bolton - 50 UC 6. Spurs - 48 UC 7. Everton - 46 UC 8. Reading - 44 9. Pompey - 43 10. Blackburn - 40 Intertoto 11. Newcastle - 37 So Europe isn't really that far off, as long as we can finish in the top half we should be there.

NUFC06
We better start thread about staying in the Premiership because atm our football is shocking and i cant see from where we will get points? From our 7 games left we have to play against Chelsea,Arsenal,Reading and Pompey=from this games i cant see how we are going to get 3 points The game against Shefild is vital If we lose it...we must start thinking about relegation fight not European football
Troll
From our 7 games left we have to play against Chelsea,Arsenal,Reading and Pompey=from this games i cant see how we are going to get 3 points Do you mean the same Portsmouth who's recent form is as bad as our own? And Reading have only taken 1 point from the last 4 games. We've beaten Reading once and Pompey twice this season already, and some of our best performances have been against Arsenal and Chelsea. All that you said its true but did you watch the last 4 games we played in the Premiership??? With that kind of football do you think we can win some of this 4 games we are talking? Troll
Did you watch the start to our season when we were stuck on 7 points and in the relegation zone? We were in a much worse situation then, but we found some form and managed to make our way into the top half of the table. We've been playing badly, but we're not the only ones, there are lots of teams playing terrible football in the league. Us going down would mean that everyone below us has to start playing fantastic football and winning, which just isn't going to happen.
Ashley17
Reading don't want to be in Europe according to Coppell so if they finish 8th that makes 9th open for Intertoto. Frankly that should be the target.
Guest triggy99
more like 37 points enough for relegation?
Decky
Do we really want to be playing again in July though? look at the players now, the reason we are in this mess is because the players are wore out, not only that but they will be more tired next season as the will have been playing since July and will still only have a month off. As much as i would love europe again i cant see us winning it next season, so we will prob play all those games and then end up out anyway, id rather we had an un-jaded squad ready for the Premiership in August so we can get fighting for the top 6 again.
