The last few days have been boring on the transfer front.

Sam might just be waiting for Ashley to de-list and take control and be given millions to spend.

Exactly. Allardyce might be working to a, say, £15m budget now, when in a week that could easily be £50m. Might as well wait a bit before signing a player now, when in a week's time we could sign a better player for that position.

now that he owns 77% of the club you'd think,if was going to spend big he wouldn't set a timetable of when it's going to start but would spend what he thought was necessary when necessary.

i don't think we'll be spending on as great a scale as some think.

Ya what, it was an appropriate response. He was being tongue in cheek right?

The Sky Sports website is pretty poor to be honest, it's pretty much the same article that they had up last week.

Apart from the fact that this is the PSG Chairman rather than Sam Allardyce saying we had made no firm offer yet, or the lads agent who said a deal maybe close but that he slightly prefered Dortmund.

Aye, other than those slight differences the article is almost word for word. :cheesy:

Look I hope this ITK is right, despite the fact that most of those who have seen this fella don't seem to be overly impressed, and that Allardyce has a rather scattergun aproach to transfers in the past, we need the bodies. Fingers crossed, eh.

Who said that?

Borussia Dortmund were in pole position to capture the signing of David Rozehnal, we understand that the defender is close to making the switch to Tyneside.

The Czech international defender who turns 27 next month is currently on the books of Paris St.Germain where he's the current player of the year.

More news as we get it.

Arnt they usually good when putting transfer news on their website?

Not really.

What makes you say that?

They'll only put up stuff as 'advanced' as this if it's got something to it.

NUFC.COM are nearly always good with their transfer news. They put up speculation, but thats all they put it up as. When they say they understand a transfer is close they are usually pretty sure the deal is almost wrapped up.

As Dave has said they've been wrong in the past, people talk about Oliver's "Here by the end of the week" about Emerton but .com were all over it too, most of what they put up is being talked about on forums anyway and I've no doubt that they've got this information from that lad on Skunkers.

What's funny? He'd have had a Shepherd budget with his list of players when he first took over, now there's new money in he might have a list of better players he wants that he didn't think he'd have been able to afford when he came in.

have to agree with you on this one nut if say he did have targets in mind and then he saw who was available, new money by whatever ammount would certainly change his plans a little/alot (depending on the extra ammount). What SA has said is he was interested but no bid was ever published so we can say that we wont be making a concrete offer cause we now have our eyes on player XYZ???
