Ronaldo
Newcastle - Taylor Is that some sort of sick joke? hahahahaha indeed agree with him about Drogba though, by far a better player than Lampard and Terry
Guest Toon83
Newcastle - Taylor Is that some sort of sick joke? hahahahaha indeed agree with him about Drogba though, by far a better player than Lampard and Terry No Joke, i see Taylor as our captain next season leading not only our team but our back four aswell, this is all about opinions so dont shoot me down for having mine
STM
I agree. Given is our most consistent player but if there was one player i would want to keep it is Taylor because he is a young talented geordie defender and they are rare. Milner would be up there as well mind, and that little welsh bloke that gets injured.
brummie
Aston Villa- Young Villa - Carew Young is a fantastic prospect, and Carew a very talented footballer, but Gareth Barry was by some way our best, most consistent player last year. I haven't seen a massive amount of Newcastle last year, but when I have seen you, Milner has looked your best player pretty much every time.
Leazes1986
Your not allowed to praise Taylor or Milner on here. They're clearly at the age now where they should be top quality players, sell while we can before they are over the hill tbh.
Dr Spectrum
Our best player just left. Signed for Pompey on a free. Probably leaves Richards as our new best player. Majority of City fans would say Dunne - and would have done before any recent exits - hell he won player of the year in SWP's last season here ( ) but...game of opinions isn't it. For what its worth I think Newcastle's best player is blatantly Michael Owen.

Sad because we've not seen much for our money and may not get any more. Drogba's way ahead of Terry for me. Possibly Cech is too.

Mr. Snrub
Chelsea's best player is easily Drogba. Terry goes missing in Champions League and International matches. Well, he doesn't go missing, I think the correct term is he gets found out.
mrmojorisin75
aye righto, wind back to before last season when drogba wasn't winning them matches he had an immense season last season but prior that he was considered an overly-expensive diving/collapsible striker who missed too many one on ones and missed too many easy chances - if he was the striker you all claim he was they simply wouldn't have bought shevchenko, the irony being that it was obviously the competition that got him to step up his game it's amazing how recent form clouds perceptions terry (and lampard) have been carrying the club since ranieri and trophy's... Guest nufc_geordie
n my opinion: Arsenal - Thierry Henry Close between him and Fabregas for is a world class talent, needs to prove it again next season though Aston Villa - Gareth Barry Good player, deserved better with respect to England call ups. Birmingham - Cameron Jerome Still a bit raw but the talent and goalscoring ability is there. Blackburn Rovers - David Bentley A well schooled talent from Arsenal, will only improve with more premiership experience. Bolton - El Hadji Diouf Tempermental but quality. Charlton - Darren Bent Goal scorer in a poor team. Chelsea - John Terry Best centre half in the world for me, deserves England captaincy. Derby - Steve Howard Proven goal scorer at every level he has played at, I expect him to do well in the premiership. Everton - Mikel Arteta Should be playing for a better team than Everton. Sticks out like a sore thumb. Fulham - Brian McBride Indicates to me the problems the team have when an ageing American striker is there best performer over the season Liverpool - Steven Gerrard Only other contender for England captain with Terry. Brilliant world class player. Manchester City - Micah Richards I expect him to replace Gary Neville in the near future in the England team. Manchester United - Cristiano Ronaldo Won every award going last season and thoroughly deserved them. Great to watch even if he is a pr*ck. Middlesborough - Jonathan Woodgate Class act when fit, would be just partnering John Terry for England if he could stay fit in my opinion. Newcastle United - Shay Given Probably our only world class performer at the moment. Portsmouth - Matt Taylor Must be knocking on the England door. Could easily play for a top 4 team. Reading - Nicky Shorey Thorouhly deserved his England call-up. Sheffield United - Phil Jagielka Another who can play at a higher level than Sheff Utd. Sunderland - Dean Whitehead A poor mans Steven Gerrard style performer. Tottenham Hotspur - Dimitar Berbatov Class personified. Has it all, could walk into almost any strikeforce in Europe. West Ham - Carlitos Tevez Showed his class to keep these muppets up last season. Wigan - Leighton Baines Another lefty in with England contention. Watford - Jay DeMerritt Very good centre half who could play in the premiership.

Guest optimistic nit
Reading-Doyle I can see where you and others are getting at with Doyle, but I think Shorey shaded it due to the fact that he didn't fade away in the second half of the season. However football is all opinions. didn't doyle get injured though? hardly his fault lyke.

Taylor Swift
Some of the comments to 'justify' the choices are quite funny Terry is 'most influential' - so what? Does that make him the 'best'? Firstly there should be a criterion set up so that we can argue based on that criterion, and so we can avoid people just throwing random names and justifying it with 'deserves England captaincy' - what the hell does England have to do with being a 'best' player at a club?
Taylor Swift
FWIW, Michael Owen is clearly our 'best' player. But, he's not our 'most valuable' (value to team, not in terms of £) because he's hardly played in the past 2 seasons. Do you see my point about a criterion? macphisto
Agree with what most people have said though I'd go for King at Spurs ahead of Berbatov. People are going to laugh at this but I'd go for Viduka as our best player now. Give Owen his due he scores on the big stage but his league goals are nothing special. Been on the scene for 10 years and never scored 20 league goals and his team play is nothing special.
