Down to barebones now,Milner back for Celtic game so i presume the team would be the same that started today but with Geremi in place of Barton and Milner in place Dyer/Nobby/Butt ? God knows.

We need help from somwhere and desperately

How did the injury happen? Was it from a tackle?

He was just near the corner flag, got tackled i think and just went over in a heap.

Heart sunk for a moment until he got up,went off within a few minutes and then it sunk again ( thaught it might have just been precationary though.

But it was obviously serious.  :tickedoff: :weep:

Luckily, it's probably the one area of the pitch we're well stocked in terms of cover (Butt, Emre, Dyer, Geremi). Still sh*t though.

Butt - holding midfielder.

Emre - injured atm.

Dyer - Outbound (allegedly)

Thankgod we have Geremi!

Could even think about putting N'zogbia in the centre, with Luque left mid....

If Luque was match-fit at the moment  :undecided: Which he clearly isn't

Owen's broken metatarsal kept him out for 5 months...

Or am i barking up the completely wrong tree?

Was just thinking this myself, it can't be 6/8 weeks if it's a broken metatarsal surely?

I dont believe this. F***** cursed club. Very Strange though, that the news isn`t online!!!! By the way, if it were to be a broken metatarsal, he would be out of play for at least 4 or 5 months, as correctly spelled from Lt. McClane here! So how serious can this story be?!

:frantic:

Depends how bad the break/fracture is and also depends on which metatarsal.

Obviously. Was just outlining the potential that the injury had.

EDIT: See post above. :D

A fracture of the fifth metatarsal is more serious than a fracture of the fourth. The fourth is effectively held in a splint by the third and fifth metatarsals.

Owen broke the fifth.

This is worrying mind

Michael Owen (2006): Fifth metatarsal - predicted 6-8 weeks returned 17 weeks later

Owen ended up having a pin/screw inserted iirc which made his comeback take even longer.
