STM
Haven't seen a thread but these two were linked with us this morning. Personally, i think they would both be cheap and good squad players. Which is what we need. I haven't seen a great deal of Abdoulaye Faye, am i correct in thinking he can play both DM and CB? If he can and Sam rates him he would be a good addition for a couple of million. PBD is someone i have always rated and he would add some much needed cover to the midfield, along with some important attributes such as strength, tackling and long range shots. Your thoughts? Elephant
Bouba Diop is absolute class, hope we go for him.
Dokko
Diop was once class, but injuries have knackered his career. Appiah really wants to leave Fener, we should have a shot at him.
Guest TheKingOfNewcastle
I'd have Diop here at the drop of a hat.
STM
Alot seem to have think he has gone down hill for the last couple of years but i still think hes a very strong midfielder.

Appiah really wants to leave Fener, we should have a shot at him. blueyes.gif Diop has hardly set the world alight in the last two seasons due to injuries, but before that i'll admit he looked a cracking player. A real powerhouse but a big gamble considering our proneness to injuries. Do we really want another crock?

Especially considering he is injury free right now.
Crumpy Gunt
None are natural centre halfs or a left back - so no.
S.S.R.
Diop was once class, but injuries have knackered his career. Gerraway man; a couple of ice-baths, a strap-on heart monitor and a session on the vibrating plate and he'll be as good as new.
Guest gggg
It's in the people which has Sam only having 10m to spend including wages, the mackems buying man utds only backup keeper and Raul to birmingham because steve mcmanaman is on the board. They've had a good laugh today.

I've not heard much of his return, as he and Fulham just went down for the last two years (probably not a coincidence) If were talking £2m then i'd take him, but i doubt Fulham would accept. Another thing though this IIRC is the last year of his contract, it could force a sale.

Cajun
Faye has looked a good defender when I have seen him.
Guest Knightrider
Diop is a better player but Faye is more versatile and has worked with Big Sam before so has more experience of his methods. Either would be a good signing at the tight price though.

La Parka
Take Faye like. Can play DC/DM. Diop would have been class a couple of years ago a bit unknown how he will come back after his injuries.
Nicky
None are natural centre halfs or a left back - so no. If the next player we get in isn't a defender, then someone needs shooting.

1878
Faye is very good at defensive mid, too rash for my liking when he plays centre back. You can tell it's not his natural position. Still, better than Ramage and co and he's already settled in the Prem unlike Rozehnal Diop is still living off a good season when he scored a cracker against Man Utd about 3 years ago
Skirge
Diop a few seasons ago would have been a great signing, I suppose he will do if he is cheap enough, sit in front of the back 4 and let him get stuck in..
ShearMagic
Faye - Good back-up, but I'm under the impression we're after a bit more than back-up atm? Diop - Is class, would take him.
Guest shaun11177
We are clearly looking for another defensive midfielder-not sure why we sold Parker therefore.

eliassenfredrik
Imagine what we would get Appiah, Diop, Faye, Cacapa, Chiellini and Campbell before the transferwindow closes. Sweet dreams, or reality?
