I think Enrique is reacting to the way we played last night against a team in what is basically a third world footballing nation.  We've had 35 million to invest in the squad and we're a couple of injuries away from playing like we did last night but against better teams.

 

We were told that money would be spent, I know that has been watered down over time but we don't know what our players were told about investment.

 

People who are having a go at players for having a go at the club haven't a clue what the players have been told.  I doubt so many players would have a go at the club without reason. 

 

But neither to the people defending them, they just assume the worst because it's Ashley.

Fair play to him for speaking his mind, I for one only wish he had done it a bit earlier. We all know that the club isn't being ran with the best of intentions/having ambition, so why should our better players want to stay? I believe if Ashley had shown a bit of ambition to push the club forwards, then Jose would more than likely stay. As it is at the moment, the intent seems to be PL survivial first and foremost with minimal squad investment as the cash continues to roll in. What is going to happen to all of this income?

 

As I've said before - Jose has been a great servant to the club - he didn't jump ship when others did and he sought to right the mistakes of 2008/09. I wish him well for the future. I'm just amazed after everything the ownership has done to it's fanbase that there are still many who will happily bend over for a good old buggering. When will people wake up and smell the coffee? I for one am a bit worried for next season, as we've shifted out our two top scorers (one being an influential captain) The dressing room must be on it's arse, so where are the big characters who are going to rise up and roll their sleeves up?

The writing may have been on the wall but the reasons for him wanting to leave are whats interesting.

 

Why does he feel he can't fulfill his ambition here?

 

Where does he think the club are going under the current ownership.

 

What impact have the recent sales had on morale.

Like it or not, as fans we benefit from his right to free speech, the club may not but for those few fans who seemingly think Ashley and DL are beacons of light and can do no wrong this is further evidence that they're a bunch of lying schemers with PR-dew included.
