Cajun
He probably should just shut up about our club now, though. Agreed, not sure I like him comparing the Liverpool fans to us after 5 minutes at the place. I know he sort of has to but I don't like it.

It also isn't fair to say that the players have been replaced with no one (in Nolan's case; in Enriques's case it's still wait and see) and to say that he thinks Barton will leave. Segun Oluwaniyi
I really dislike this trend of players pushing for moves away, then releasing comments to get on the side of the fans they have just abandoned. He wanted a move to Liverpool and he received what he wanted. I don't begrudge him for moving to a better club, but Newcastle no longer concerns him. Guest sicko2ndbest
Don't see anything wrong He deserves a voice based on his exploits for the club I notice how he says it's difficult for Pardew. Tooj
He should keep his mouth shut in all honesty, if he really cared for us fans that much he wouldn't say things with the intention to unsettle the players that are here. Sure it doesn't really do much for morale amongst our new signings.

Guest Mantis
No problem with what he's said. I'm sure he could have layed into certain people but he is above them. And yes, a pattern is emerging, but he must be greedy as he left, right?
PineBarrens
It's almost like there's a pattern emerging. So that makes it just Kevin Keegan, Bobby Robson, Alex Ferguson, Arsene Wenger, Joey Barton, Kevin Nolan, an employment tribunal arbitration panel, every football journalist in christendom, Dave Whelan, Mungo Jerry, The Christians, Alan Shearer, Sam Allardyce, Alan Sugar, Terence Trent D'Arby, Samuel Beckett and now Jose Enrique that have been critical of the current NUFC regime. It's all a conspiracy to make Mike and friends look bad.

AyeDubbleYoo
Wish ex players would shut the fuck up TBH. No idea why anyone would support a Liverpool player attacking NUFC... this is probably the saddest effect of the Ashley regime, people don't seem to support their own club any more. Cajun
I don't think people support the club any less but comments like this are counter productive no matter how many times you say "the fans have the right to know" etc.. We know it's shit but these things won't help us.

AyeDubbleYoo
Ashley is not my club and never will be Ian. Neither is Andy Carroll, Jose Enrique or Kevin Nolan though. (I'm not sure if that makes sense but I know what I'm trying to say!)
captainhaircut
Ashley is not my club and never will be Ian. This is the problem with modern football though isn't it. He effectively is the club. He can do what he wants with it because he owns it and with the amount of money he has put in, he's well within his rights to manage it how he wants. I'm not agreeing with him or condoning it but with football clubs being bought as rich men's play things at the moment, that's the way it is.
