ChezGiven
http://sport.independent.co.uk/football/premiership/article2851385.ece Sam Allardyce said for the first time yesterday that he may be forced to buy another goalkeeper should Shay Given's new groin injury prove to be more stubborn than Newcastle would like. Given is out of Newcastle's opener at Bolton tomorrow, where Steve Harper will stand in, but with Newcastle's third choice keeper, Tim Krul, 19, on loan at Falkirk, Allardyce is thinking of a new signing. "I am sure he [Given] will be OK in two or three weeks," Allardyce said, "but if anything happens to either keeper from then on we have to decide if we need another one. [Krul] is inexperienced, young and with great potential. I don't want to put him in a situation that he is not capable of coping with. Finding another top keeper is something we could have to do." Allardyce has made seven signings this summer, but on his return to Bolton, Given is just one of several injuries, including Michael Owen and Joey Barton, and two of the most important signings, Claudio Cacapa and Jose Enrique, are not being considered for selection. Leazes1986
Might look at Ian Walker like. He's not gonna get a top keeper as a stop gap.

bodson
Swedish goalkeeper Rami Shaaban would be perfect. He has PL and CL experience from his time at Arsenal and is a swedish internatioinal (back up for Isaksson). He now plays for norweigian side Fredrikstad where he is doing very well. Good short term solution imo.

With Krul out on loan we do need a replacement for the whole season.

TRon
We'd be better off recalling Krul if it's possible. He's probably better than most of the replacements available anyway.

Greg
We'd be better off recalling Krul if it's possible. He's probably better than most of the replacements available anyway. He needs the games, it is much more beneficial to him and us in the long term to have him playing for Falkirik rather than sitting on our bench. Guest
Magnus Hedman. Neil Sullivan. Someone like that. We don't need a quality keeper, just someone who can come in for a match in an extreme emergency.
Skirge
Recall Krul!! Na he needs to hang on Shay has always been a quick healer, I know this is an old injury from last season but he never really got proper rest after his operation before playing again. Yep, 3rd choice keeper to be booted out when Krul returns, we're going to be looking at someone along these lines. Sensible decision IMO.
