Cajun
Have to say a couple of people were claiming we were very lucky to be winning. Free kick was excellent, Bolton would have been very lucky if it hadn't had gone in, left alone (as we saw) or any touch towards goal and it would have been than likely gone in anyway. The second was a very well taken goal. The third was a bit of luck but the sort of goal that happens all the time (as someone mentioned, Lampard scores about 16 of those every season). We created our own luck and it was a well deserved win. I am a self confessed "fanboy" but Milner (to me at least) seems exactly the kind of player for an Allardyce team. Milner seems more suited to the 4-3-3 formation, he can get around the pitch more rather than being stuck out on the touchline, Martins looks good out there too and the Bolton back four struggled to pick him up, It'll be interesting to see what happens to N'Zogbia when Enrique comes into the team as he's looked excellent in attack so far in this match. His free kick was impossible to defend against for a keeper.
Yorkie
That cross for Martins' first goal; fucking sublime. Infact, going over-the-top maybe, each ball for the first goals were simply two of the finest crosses you'll see from us this season. Bolton didn't defend either well, but regardless, they were undefendable. N'Zogbia's, the bend and whip on the ball - it was always going in. It was at the perfect height, perfect pace, it was just inch perfect. The cross wasn't inaccurate, the attackers were just too slow. Anyhow - Martins' finish. Jesus Christ. It was at chest height. Not a clue how the bugger did that. Dead pleased with that. We played them off the park in the first half. We simply look so much more comfortable on the ball; it was confident, assured and we actually knew what we were doing with it - there was a system and a formula - where last season we simply seemed to plod. Also, the determination and fight for the ball was so much more evident. We wanted to win the ball back, and everyone was everywhere. Fantastic to see. Very, very promising. Come the fuck on. Rob
Lee Clark doing 'join the dots' there. Can't believe anyone can moan about our second half performance (apart from Crumpy obviously, who just does it for the wind up) - for far too long we've been soft touches away from home, often we take leads and piss them up the wall because we haven't got the spine and the fight when our backs are against the wall. Now we have, or at least we had today, and folk moan because we didn't go and beat them by 7. Unbelievable. to be fair i think it only has been crumpy complaining... thats maybes why theres not alot of posting on this subject, becasuse know one has anything to complain about.. or maybe cos everyone else is owt getting pissed! EthiGeordie
we were a good team in a making Rozy was awesome very commanding even Carr looks like some thing decent. I excpect when cacepa fully fit he will partner Roy and Taylor will move to right back. With Enrique on the left back we will have the best back four that is available for this football club. Guest
I love it how even when being escorted into the ground Big Sam was still texting someone.
Liam Liam Liam O
Harper at fault for the goal, thought it at the time. If he doesnt come out, he doesnt score.
Cajun
I don't think Harper was at fault, I dont think many keeper would have stayed on their line.
madras
Harper at fault for the goal, thought it at the time. If he doesnt come out, he doesnt score. if he doesn't come out anelka shoots past him from 10yds,every keeper in that situation will try to close the angle

Had Geremi broke away like that, played it into Viduka to play in Martins, we'd be raving about it.
Yorkie
Feeble attempt at a tackle by Geremi, Carr simply outclassed by a player with superior pace to him (Carr's constant drawback from here on in), Harper coming out too early. But then, it wasn't a comedy of errors, it was an excellent breakaway that was always going to be difficult to defend against.

And if he had to come, he made the decision too late, always been his main fault, letting it through him on the move. He was never going to save it once he made the decisions he did when he did. Wullie
Every keeper in the world would have come for that. It's called narrowing the angle - Goalkeeping 101.
Cajun
Goals happen. I don't think there was any major blunders involved in their one today.

Yorkie
I don't know why we're even bothered tbh. As has been said, goals happen. They scored one and we scored three. Sorted.

Crumpy Gunt
Martins first touch for his 1st goal made a mockery of his abysmal first touch throughout. Sam nearly took his ears off a few minutes before taking him off for yet again losing what should be (for a pro footballer) a regulation pass. He needs to work very hard on it.
