How many times? Silvestre has already knocked us back!

Do you think Silvestre is a no then?

He turned us down because he is good friends with Ousmane Dabo.

That was only over Barton.

If we can get past that ...

If we can get past that?!?!?! It's kind of a big stumbling block considering Barton won't be leaving the club

The reason was enough to make him say no in the first place, he could change his mind, if he does that then the original knock-back is a bit suspicious.

Lets not head down that route again.

Good news whatever the reason tbh. If they're looking at someone, great. If they're not, the fact they've chosen to socialise together is an equally good sign, given the nonsense reported about them not getting on.

If Shorey becomes available, which I find highly unlikely, I think it may prove difficult to fight with West Ham. As our attempt at signing Sidwell proved, battling with a player's home club can prove to be a lost cause.

I think the Sidwell thing was the fact it was mid-table, Europeless Newcastle vs Champions League, Premiership title hunting Chelsea

And moving your family to the other end of the country for what would almost certainly have been less money.  I don't blame him for the decision he made.  In fact, I'm glad he made it.  We ended up with better players.

home club rubbish,he signed for the bigger club in champs league with a better chance of winning stuff,he is also confident to give himself a chance at getting a place,if it doesn't work he's young enough to make a go of it elsewhere.

Why when it's more than likely that they're just there to watch the match (let's face it, that's the overwhelmingly obvious explanation, especially having played in the NW yesterday), does it become more than likely that they're there to sign a player in the minds of people on here?

Each seems as likely or unlikely as the other to be honest. Mort going to watch a match which has nowt to do with us because he's in the northwest? It's hardly a major trek to the north west is it.

Has it been confirmed they are actually there?

He knows full well that with us he would be playing first-team football.

At Chelsea he is behind Lampard, Essien, Ballack, Mikel and probably Makelele.

I've read an interview with him ''as soon as Chelsea contacted Reading, there was no chance of me going anywhere else''.

plays 2 good games and he's in front of ballack,so he's possibly 4th in line for 2 centre mid slots, not to far away really

rather pley every game and finish 5th ( :shifty:) or play a dozen and have a shot at the league and champs lge and fa cup, then maybe move on for regular footy.............stroke your chin and think about it
