Guest Geordiesned
This'll be the first time we've entered at the 2nd round stage for a few years following out involvement in Europe when we've been given a bye. The draw is live on Sky Sports at 10pm on Thursday after the Rotherham v Sheffield United tie. So who does everyone fancy playing? At this stage I'd like either a piss easy home match or an away fixture at somewhere we've never played so I can chalk off a new ground. Or a match against the Mackems wouldn't go amiss either. Judging by Big Sam's comments when he was appointed he'll be taking it very seriously as he see's it as the most realistic prospect of the elusive silverware. TEAMS NUFC: Shay Given, Nobby Solano, Jose Enrique, Steven Taylor, Cacapa, Charles N'Zogbia, Geremi, Alan Smith, Emre, Michael Owen, Shola Ameobi Subs: Steve Harper, Oba Martins, Nicky Butt, David Edgar, Paul Huntington BFC: Heinz Muller, Lewin Nyatanga, Robert Kozluk, Sam Togwell, Miguel Mostto, Grant McCann, Rohan Ricketts, Dennis Souza, Martin Devaney, Dwayne Mattis, Dominik Werling Subs: Nick Colgan, Robert Atkinson, Kim Christensen, Michael Coulson, Jacob Butterfield Referre: G Salisbury Attendance: tbc
Guest
He says he'll take it serious but I bet you anything we still see mainly fringe players in the side.

Yorkie
Someone shit who we can absolutely pulverise, s'il vous plais. Accrington or Morecambe at home would be great, cheers. Never really works like that, though. We'll get Chelsea at some point anyway so it doesn't really matter.
Guest Geordie_Paul
Whey that's alreet then, i've got a £10 bet on the toon to win the Carling Cup Gotta say I'd prefer a piss-easy home game but wouldn't be disappointed with another match against the Mackems like! Guest Geordiesned
The draw tonight is seeded (so we can't play the Mackems at this stage) and with only one tie left to play these look like being the teams we can come up against: Blackpool, Bristol City, Bristol Rovers, Carlisle, Doncaster, Hartlepool, Hereford, Hull, Leeds, Leyton Orient, Luton, MK Dons, Morecambe, Northampton, Nottingham Forest, Oldham, Peterborough, Rochdale, Shrewsbury, Southend, Stockport, Swansea, Wrexham, (Barnsley or Rotherham or Sheffield Wednesday). If Sheffield Wednesday win tonight we can't play them as they replace Barnsley as seeds. Second Round ties will be played in the week commencing Monday 27th August. Guest Geordiesned
I'd quite fancy Leeds away. Short trip so wouldn't need to take any time off work to get there.

ohmelads
We want the easiest team going, at home, so we can rest as many first-team players as possible and give the younger/fringe players a chance. Morecambe at home or something like that. Looking at that list there's a few teams who could give us a tough away game.
