Glad to get that monkey off our back, we can now finally go on a drawing spree. -
Morning. In the day my Dad( no doubt like most) when he was filling out his Littewoods coupon would look at the form guide printed in the newspapers and week after week he failed to win even his stake money back. Football is and always will beincredibly difficult to predict. A sending off , a fluke goal, an injury, loss of form the factors that cant be predicted to a degree make it a game we all love. I had absolutely no confidence before kick off yesterday indeed it was only after we ( Chelsea) scored the 3rd was I convinced we would win. Having said all that I would suggest that the team that I believe this weekend have been dragged back into the mix is Arsenal.Iam not really expecting ( hoping yes without doubt) them to miss out on CL but their 2nd place is far from a given and they certainly arenât a team that looks close to the top of their game. As mad as it sounds I can see them getting just one more point this season and that will be away at Southampton. The midweek game in Paris means Arteta has to go 100% that game a few days on in Liverpool wonât be easy Slott will go 100% in front of an Anfield crowd grows the challenges. As for us and indeed you yes itâs in our own hands . A NUFC at its best or even close to its best will present us a massive challenge but at the same time if we are out our best it wonât be easy for you. The table and indeed GD suggests that there isnât a lot of difference between us and no doubt like the majority I can point to games where we should have got a point or two extra so itâs back to my initial point â football is difficult to predict â !

Just remembered, we finally drew a game. -
Itâs second priority for me

Tonali one was never a pen. OâReilly chucks his leg across to initiate the contact. Even Lee Hendrie, who didnât seem too complimentary about us all afternoon, agreed. The Barnes free kick was a clear foul. Barnes shifts the ball on too quickly for Van Hecke and then waits for the contact. He could have got out the way, yes. As he misses him with his right and then his trailing leg catches him on the way through. Van Hecke has slid in from side on/behind him and got nowhere near the ball. Why is it on Barnes to make sure there is no contact, even if minimal?

That pass into Bruno for the second non-penalty win was a beauty an' all. Did think he faded out of things after that, though.

Yea, that stat is kind of pointless. -
From what I remember that Tonali one was never a penalty like, if anything it was a foul the other way. And their was contact on the Barnes FK. It was minimal, but it was there.
-
I didnât think he was at his best. But certainly much more like it. He still has the annoying habit of cutting in and sort of slowing down to survey the play. But it often means the chance for a shot or pass has gone. Especially when he tends to ignore Tino on the overlap. Was a fag paper away from winning us a pen 2 minutes after coming on. So he was certainly back to contributing in a positive way.

They donât recently, but this summer they will need to spend big on a CB and CM at a minimum. Rudgier injured his knee, Alaba done as a footballer, Militao getting too many injuries and Ascencio is just a squad player long term.
-
Heâs going to be patched up and rolled out for Chelsea game isnât he? Throw all into it and get under the knife afterwards.

Clearly not those posters no, the ones who seemingly want to diminish what these players have done. FFS thereâs someone earlier in the thread trying to suggest that the Man Utd game was closer than the 4-1 score line suggested, despite us playing it in second gear. im convinced some posters in here after having a threesome with Jennifer Anniston and Liv Tyler, would complain that Janine off Easternders wasnât there too đ¤Śđťââď¸ -
Joelinton has been much better this season with his passes in final third, plays them with purpose.

Good god, reading some of these comments, really does demonstrate how psychologically damaged our fanbase is. Now for a second go back to the start of the season, or better yet after the 4-2 defeat to Brentford, now if someone told you then this team would win a cup and have CL qualification in their own hands with 3 games to play. Youâd have been over the fucking moon. Some posters on here need minge bungs, as minge wipes wouldnât cut it đ¤Śđťââď¸ -

No mention of the clear penalty they were denied when Tonali clattered into O'Reilly either Or Barnes' dive to win the free kick that resulted in the handball for our late pen. -
Apparently he didn't want to celebrate, one of our fans told him to fuck off and in turn he decided to do a 180 and try to kiss the badge? Lewis Dunk gave him a bollocking apparently.

I still don't understand what he's trying to say with that celebration -
Only coz they paid 30m and would no doubt want some profit out of it
-
2 signing on fees and now playing regular PL football, and will no doubt get a move in 2-3 years time. I think he'll be alright to be fair.

Was thinking that last night. Given the parlous state of our squad and blank transfer windows something had to be done. I remember hearing, from Pep amongst others, that we should do well this season not having Europe to contend with. That's obvs a good point BUT I do think changes were made to ease the workload/injury potential. Perhaps even how we train and adjusting the way we play. Took a few months to gel. Hence the slow start. I'm convinced, with a few (3) additions, we'll come out of the blocks next season. As this one stands, I'll take it. The run in, twitchy as it is, is going how I thought if would. To the wire. 50p 5p
