Liverpool getting £10m to allow Trent to leave a month early. Mental.
-
Makes sense tbh. He seems like the type of twat who would prefer to sit on the bench in London than come and build a proper career at Newcastle.

Did it for PSG last time as wanted to go to at least one CL away tie (got to three Europa last time when I had my ST). Glad I did it, and had a great few days in Paris, but wouldn't make a habit of it probably. It's really not enjoyable being unable to celebrate. Think the only ones I'd possibly do it for again would be the Bernabeu or the the new Camp Nou. There's strong tourist vibe anyway in the home end of those stadia.

I didn't say we can't get work done, I just said it's not helpful that we can't seem to get a DOF established long term since the takeover. How can changing personnel in such an important area be unimportant? Otherwise why even appoint one? Mitchell was brought in specifically to identify good value transfer targets as far as I'm aware. If we don't need that then was that not a required appointment?
-
Honestly, don't think Fernandes will be a crazy loss.

We did this for Milan last time and no issues. We didn't wear colours or owt and kept quiet enough. Everyone around us knew we were toon fans though and they didn't care. In fact when we were leaving and going down the spiral tower thing we saw loads of other folk in toon shirts and there seemed no issue. Was going to try in Paris too but got warned against it and despite speaking French didn't want to risk it as PSG fans tend to be a bit more cuntish as a rule.

Those sweet sweet Floridian dividends. Glazers going Tampa Bay Rowdy for the sack of filthy lucre heading their way.
-
There were loads in the Dortmund home end last time, but I think ease and/or danger varies massively depending on who it is.
-
-
I don't even think it's a guarantee we reinvest that money. You might just see the return of the dividends.
-
Has anyone had any experience of going in the home end for a European away tie? That is my only option to get to see us play away and happy to take the risk.

I know coefficients aren’t as important as they used to be (in sporting terms anyway, now more relevant for finances really), but I’ll repost this excellent site for all things coefficient: https://kassiesa.net/uefa/data/method5/ccoef2025.html

Absolutely ridiculous fee for a 30 year old. Man Utd are right to rip the Saudi’s arm off for that sort of cash. Ultimately it’s all spreadsheets not soul these days.
-
In the world of PSR (which Man Utd are one of the biggest proponents of) selling a 30+ year old for £80m is almost always the right decision.
-
Cracking thread - thanks @Marko NUFC for picking up the baton on this one.

Constantly changing DOFs now doesn’t have a massive impact. None of them have stayed long enough to have made a meaningful long term impact that we’ll have to adjust. -
Ramsdale would be very specifically the one player that I'd put my trust for Howe aside for. I cannot emphasise enough how shit I think he is.
-
I have faith in you Shay, and when this random Spanish bloke with a proactive agent saves the pelanty that wins us the Chapions League the rest of you are going to look pretty silly.
-
There much confidence Nice can make it through qualifying?
-
Best case scenario would be they sell Fernandes for that and their recent transfer success remains as is. It would take a hell of a coup or scouting insight to replace him like for like, so they might have to Moneyball it.
-
I live in Nice so Monaco (a) 100%. My brother lives in Madrid so one of those away too and then if I can be really greedy I work in Belgium a lot so Union Saint-Gilloise as well. Went to Milan and Paris last time and both were class like.

This is not true. The biggest issue is our FFP position. We did plenty of work with no DOF. We did plenty of work with Ashworth. We had little money to spend with Mitchell. Next season we’ve got some funds from sales, additional sponsor revenue and additional revenues from CL. We’ll get work done. From the recruitment side all we’ve lost is a negotiator. Nickson, Howe nephew, Howe, the data and scouts all still there -
Pope is coming to the end of his contract, so this summer it’s either sell or renew, if the club want to be “good sellers”. Pope is good enough to be a PL starter and has legit England chances, so he’ll also want clarity
-
Have never understood the Ramsdale links , he's a worse goalie than Pope so is literally no point in buying him .
