Keeping as many young players "in the game" is fair enough imo. 25 in the squad. Allow 2-3 long-term injuries outside of that. 3-5 that need loans for some reason like Hayden. Anymore is too much imo. What's that 33?

My only concern is how we afford everything else we need to compete across the number of games we’re going to have. I’d love Joao Pedro as well, but him and Elanga could be £120m, then the Trafford reports are talking £40m. And that is without the CB that we need, who really has to be a top player. I was expecting our plan to be a big money signing, along with a number of lower priced players spotted by our scouts that haven’t really proved themselves yet (Huijsen to Bournemouth type signings).

Not Football related but plenty of grafting goin on...

We were excellent all around, bottom 1/2 , top 1/2, doesn't mean there isn't further room for improvement The staleness of the foward line and lack of pace and the back have been consistent issues throughout.

Anthony Elanga: NUFC have bid of £45m rejected (Ornstein)

Tbf you’re right, but I’d also suggest that our manager not getting a player he’s after shouldn’t be the sort of thing that a person should ‘hope’ for -

Whoops * Maasten I meant our Anderson. Fair enough on Johnson. -
It's an inconsequential sentiment which shouldn't be getting you as worked up as you are

Didn't we have a pretty decent record against everyone last season, other than maybe Brighton? -

Likewise, and no issue with people saying that there’s players they’d like to sign or not. But ‘hoping it doesn’t happen’ is such a twatful sentiment. -

Important point, this. -
I have done a complete 180 on Elanga - really wasn't keen when we were first rumoured to be linked. I think there was a bit of stigma attached to him from his time at Man U. But in fairness to the lad he has really progressed as a player at Forrest and that is what you want to see in a player. Also if you watch some of his interviews he comes across as a very humble lad who is looking to continue to improve. I now actually think he'll be perfect for us on the RW - he's rapid - as in one of the quickest in the PL. He's comfortable on both feet, I don't think he knows himself which is his best. And I think he'll thrive in Eddies high press. So I'm now 100% behind this signing.

They could stop voting for these bollocks rules to start with. My original point wasn't really aimed at Bournemouth tbh as they're clearly on the up, moreso Palace, Fulham, Brentford types who seem happy to do fuck all every season and will gladly fall in line when Liverpool and Spurs start flapping their gums at the prospect of us, Forest or Villa attempting to break the stranglehold of the cartel.

I mean, it's all about points of view I guess. There's plenty of players I wouldn't want us to sign, and I'll happily talk about it on a football forum. -

Neither of them were considered average at the time. The point made was £40m is the going rate for an average player. I'm just wondering what that is being based on. -

I’m well past the point of hoping transfers don’t happen, I don’t know better than Howe. If he bid for Hojland there’d be a reason for it, even if I wouldn’t myself. Sometimes transfers don’t work out, but ‘hoping it doesn’t happen’ is like announcing to the internet that you’re 14. -

Anderson who a lot of people on here wanted to sign? Johnson who was extremely highly rated? We're not talking about hindsight here. I'm not even sure I know who Master is though -
Oxlade-chamberlain and Richarlison went for over 35m almost a decade ago.

It happens, but it's quite a rarity. For those games it'd be nice to have something different on the bench to change shape or dynamic. -

We had an excellent record against the bottom ⅓ or so last season. This problem with "breaking down a low block" is a myth in my opinion. That's not how/why Bournemouth, Fulham etc beat us. We should double-down on Eddie-ball, pace, pressing etc. but that is going to take at least five new additions otherwise we won't have the depth to carry it out across multiple competitions.
